ok I have a message for JOe or mytwocents, whatever you prefer to be known as.
If i were you, i wouldnt be raving on about today's punk scence, while bagging the rest of us. I used to be into todays punk scence (not neccesarily nz punk just todays punk in general) and to tell you the truth i refuse to listen to most "POP/PUNK" bands today. One of the biggest pop/punk bands (gee...even the name is a cliche) "the ataris" are really just as bad as any boy band. Their c.d is just pefection, not as in a good perfection, but it is what as known as "Perfect pop punk"....you know all studio done and fake and.....well really that sums up what punk is about now. Unless you listen to bands like frenzal rhomb who are purely in it for a bit of a laugh and thats it, then your lost....i mean it's not music you can look deeply into anymore, its all just a way of turning kids into marketing tools.....fucking rediculous. If any of you know anything about the sex pistols you would know what legends they are and there was a REAL POLITICAL message to most of their music.....they were not just for shock value, they were about the state engliand was in at the time....that's what punk was all about. Punk of course also started in america, but there it never really meant much, if you listen to the rammones they were in it for a bit of a laugh, for shock value, and to sing about romance, etc, the difference between them and blink 182 for instance, is that they actually WERE FUNNY and they were not over produced shit. So now, english and political punk is dead, american punk is just a massive corparate load of shit, and a lot of australian punk sounds american anyway (i said alot, not all, i love the rhomb and nancy vandal but have you heard one dollar short? they sounds american......australians who sing with american Accents......)........anyway that's all i have to say for now. Punk has become pop punk and pop punk is just another way to turn kids into marketting tools.....it goes hand in hand with skate clothing and shops etc.......like surf clothing soon it will get out of hand, and "uniform" the kiddies............ anyway i hope this dribble makes sense to you all.....im just warning you about the pop punk scence today......its becoming a crock of shit. luv peaches head,,
