My lovely sister, a radio DJ in upstate New York, has just informed me that they're playing the hell out of "bullitproof" on their rock station there. Go my sister!
Not really, given that the neighboring competition (NYC) is the #2 market in the US. She's in Poughkeepsie, which broadcasts throughout the whole Hudson River Valley, though.
They're still not playing the single at my rock station in Minneapolis. Bastards. Maybe they would be if I were related to the program director here.
They've still not been played on my local Clear Channel (the evil media incarnation of Satan!) rock stations. But I was watching the Raiders/Dolphins game, and while the announcer was talking about a CBS tv show, I heard a familiar riff.. from "Run". At least that tells me I might hear them on radio soon!
for those folks wondering what stations their getting played on a useful resourse you can use is http://www.thenetworkmag.com check the alternative, active rock and mainstream rock charts to see their format ratings, after that you can click on the song to see what stations are playing it and how much they are, also found some interesting stats for some other nz bands getting very little but hey some airplay is better then none aint it haha
So here's the story I was going to tell on saturday, but the site was broken.
I bought a new car. I wasn't intending to, but these things happen. My new car has a cd player, whereas my old car had a big gaping hole in the dash where a stereo should have been. On my drive back home from the dealership I didn't have any cd's with me, so I turned on our local rock station. The dj said, "Stupid name, but the band kicks ass... Here's Pacifier with Bullitproof." So now I've heard proof that they're actually being played on the radio.
not only did they change their name to pacifier, but demolition experts the world over have taken to flying aeroplanes into buildings as the preferred method for controlled implosion. In some cases, they've even started flying planes into buildings beside 'the building' (and lighting a bit of a fire) for that perfect drop.
only makes me wonder,
were shihad the true losers of the the 911 incident
and if so
would it be fair to surmise that the WTC job was part of a greater conspiracy against NZ rock?

Wierdly enough, I was hanging out one day in Poughkeepsie not so long ago. Spent three hours playing on a 'Judge Dredd' pinball machine there...yaaay.
