i said an ethical quality to the music in question, meaning a piece of the artists emotion#1 from their personality#2,
the current state of music in the world shows us just how sick our mental health is,
vaginas drugs and money seems to be mainstreams point to music,
personaly i feel that if the music makes no emotional connection to the listener (creator included) then it is pointless,
#1. emotion = end result of feelings that motivates the human to eithier understand their emotion or express it to others,
#2. personality = the one difference between humans on earth

One of the things I really love about the kiwi music scene is that so much of the music, regardless of whether I like it or not, has emotional (social, cultural, spiritual, whatever) value to performer and audience alike.

Every day I become more and more convinced that music is something different and much greater than "art". I am developing a thesis that I hope to share one day as soon as I can figure it out in my head.
But basically I see making music is as natural and inevitable as breathing. It's not always a concious decision.

I can listen to rap, and think 'nice beats', and quite enjoy it. but other than that it often has no personal connection to me, as a lot of it speaks of backgrounds and environments completely outside my range of experience. So should I not listen?
I can listen to a song that speaks about life as if it was written specifically for me, but the music sounds awful, and therefore establishes no emotional connection. Should I have to listen?
Then again I listen to some lyric-less electronica and feel some sort of emotional connection just through uses of beats and sounds. how do you determine what statement it is making?
