Late August apparently. No firm date yet. And you can catch them live this Sat in Palmerston North w Garageland (well recommended) at the Massey Uni Hall and Sun 22nd at the Bodge in Welly.
album is out 27th August ( definate ) and next Auckland show is the second
at Galatos with Fur Patrol . Release party and fourth video from the album recorded at the official release party on the 31st August .
oh please girlies... while we all wish we could sleep with band members (not) we don't need you to tell us all about it.... and being friends with someone doesnt mean anything.... does it??/ or am i missing something deep and spiritual??
jimi, I always consider nzm a place where you allowed, nay, encouraged to talk about _any_ aspect of nz music, from reports of live shows to comments on new videos to discussions of how someone used to play backyard cricket with members of band X and they were crap at bowling.
Perhaps you could post a list of just what is or isn't appropriate discussion for nzm?
ok fine anyone can talk about anything, thats cool.
i guess it's my choice whether i frequent this site, right? i could just not come here if I thought people were continually talking about absolute nonsense. but wouldnt it be a shame if nzmusic lost members because of the huge amounts of inane crap being spouted by girls (and guys?) on this site?
i'm not going to waste my time trying to create a list of what's acceptable, because it would be totally pointless. how many people would follow it? knowing some people on here, they would deliberately break the 'rules' just to spite me or whoever wrote them.
all im asking for, is for the people who write this shit to think about the percentage of readers who are going to care that they once drunkenly scored the roadie for a band that used to be cool (for instance). i for one don't. if you want to read about the band-scoring exploits of people who come across as twelve years old, then thats fine by me. have fun.

Right on Jimi!
It's all good in my books if someone mentions they are a friend of someones. Everybody does that - is it not a part of kiwi culture to say something along the lines of 'what school did you go to'/'do you know so and so'?
But to claim over the internet youve slept with someone is lower than lame. No need to justify the reasons why.
if someone 'mentions' theyre a friend of someone in a band.... cool, go ahead, thats a regular occurance in nz.
but what if thats the entire purpose of their post???/ then i think people are wasting space.
someone comes on here just to say how theyre friends with so-and-so....well what are they trying to achieve apart from 'yeah now theyll think im cool'
hahahahaha, oh man my sides hurt...stop it, all of you...
i stalk-ed pluto in hamilton the other week. full creeping-around-on-tiptoes cliche action. getting the setlist signed for a friend. but 'twas all in groupie-mocking self-conscious good fun...
but shagging boys-in-bands and boasting about it? even a self-professed-stalker-ace like myself wouldn't step so LOW! that's new depths of lame. and potentially embarrasing for the nation's rockboy contingent, discovering one's ex-lovers are screaming groupie cliches willing to brag about their 'conquests' on the innernet.
it doesn't make you cool, you just come across as a pathetic slag. what would your mother think?
call me a forum nazi but I say take your bitching or fire or whatever you want to call it and say it in another forum. I'm much more keen to hear what people actually think of "Red Light Syndrome".
I've been listening to it quite a bit over the last week or so and I like it a lot. Nice'npoppy (mostly anyway - Candy Arse sneaks up on you) and good to have on the the background as you work or play. The TV ads are pretty funny too.
i really like the tv ads - its nice when a band aren't afraid to make fun of themselves
i think the album is great. Candy Arse is ... different from the rest
oh dear , people have got carried away after that one comment . I hate to take the wind out of your sails , but I'm a friend of Mikes and I wrote that comment because I knew he would be checking out this site . It was a joke to wind him up , Glockenspiel ( pretty bloody obviously if you think about it ) is a fictitious character .
