Well, since no one else has commented yet I'll start things off. I went to both Friday and Saturday night shows and these are some of my thoughts, it would be good to hear what other people who attended thought of it.
For me the Sat show was a lot stronger in every way. The performance had more energy and the whole vibe of the show felt better. Friday felt a little flat and not quite what I have come to expect from Shihad.
It was pretty obvious to me that the songs from the new album simply do not stand up well when compared with the material from the past. I don't think Jon has lost his songwriting talent but I think he has gone a little overboard on the big sing-along choruses and many of the songs have very cliched structures. To me, the only songs which match previous efforts are Trademark and to a lesser extent, Comfort Me. Comfort me has a killer signature riff but once again gets watered down by the big, corny chorus.
Jon's acoustic spots were good and it was great to hear the songs as they were when he first wrote them. It would have been good to hear a full band version of Run though.
Is it just me or do the guys suddenly seem older? I've never thought that about them before. It's not that they look physically older, they just seem a bit tired on stage. The energy levels definitely aren't what they used to be. There was still a lot of passion in the performances but something seemed to be missing that I can't quite put my finger on.
I did enjoy both shows, Saturday especially, but I can't say that they come close to any Shihad gigs I have seen before. Hopefully the guys will get back into the swing of things, I just hope that they haven't lost that spark they used to have.

what a fucking great gig. ghosts and envy. toxic. i feel sorry for anyone that missed that. - dust
Monday night gig ruled! It was nice to hear Toxic Shock but it and Envy fell flat as encores compared to the monster of songs that preceeded them. It is all one big blur to me of heaving sweaty bodies and raw energy. The way the crowd held Jon during "Home Again", like a god, and for so long was inspiring. Biggy ups for the improvement over Friday night. I'm knackered. Vietnow is a friggin encyclopaedia of Shihad.

Ollie, I wish I could have seen the Saturday night gig. I feel like I've only seen the beginning and end of a mini-series.

... i don't think that pacifier have lost any energy, if anything i think they are more incredible now then ever, it's just we're older. Photographing them now as opossed to the weta/fur tour 2 odd years back was so different, jon is one crazy litttle fucker. it's hard to keep up. I think that the kids are just as blown away as we were when we were 16.
They are quieter though, my only complaint, not sure wether it was noise restrictions put on by the venue (i imagine so) as it is a pretty residential area, and it was fucking loud outside. But my ears used to ring for ages after a shihad gig, no more. or maybe it's just that my ears are fucked...
