Forums: Bands,

Yet another fine Chch outfit. Watch out these guys will take your head off. And oh how we love Ren.

and they are comming to auckland too

are they? when?

im not exactly sure man, so dont quote me on this.

november i think. 2 gigs 1 at the KA and 1 at papa jacks.

Ive seen their bass player post here so maybe he can give you better info.

Yeah, they're sposed to be playing November 15, possibly on the Shore with Indicator Dogs. I'm not sure if that is confirmed yet.

Cripple kick ass

Also if anyone could let us know what is happening with the new cd it would be great.

Ok, so far what has been confirmed is Cripple will play in Auckland at Papa Jacks on Thurs Nov 14, im traveling from Wellington for that gig, see you there :)

Gah! I was going to be travelling with the band but can't make it due to lack of funding, this will be the first gig I've missed in over a year! So annoying, "." please go extra-hard for me =[

do you have dredlocks?

criple go off....I saw then when the supported Seven Tongues (another rockin christchurch band currently in Australia...anyone know whats happening with Seven Tongues actually?) at the jet set lounge...reminded me of a heavier version of metallica for some reason

no, I have girlishly long hair with ringlets =/
Yes the Seven Tounges gig was good, what a shame that Cripple outshone them musically =]

but what nice girlish ringlets they are!

this band has an ep and video
with more on the way
made with there own resources
nz on air?

cripple rip up anywhere they gonna gig
musical maestros of mayhem
much respect

Cripple are an awesome Band, I used to get lessons off the bassist.. after seeing him play the bass i quit. He is fucking amazing

I just found this....my god,u quit?....fuck man,it's people like FuD that are the reason why i LOVE bass.
You'll find that in woteva u do,there's bound to be sumone out there who is 'better',all the more reason to evolve as a Bassist,i see as he's a good 10 years older, wot can i achieve in those 10 years?!??...
Bass playing for me has now gotten 2 the stage where i'm selling my Celica,2 buy both a 'more accommodating car for me & my Amp(s),with the $$ left ova?,that's going on my Warwick Thumb-6 Broadneck Bass i've order'd from Germany, from the good bastard's @ The Rock Shop.

I could go on for hours, but it's likely no one reads these things....

word.

ha I'm like the original poster, but I didn't quit.. just accepted I suck haha. Awesome players put you in your place, but also make me (at least) dream, its all fun in the end though.

'six days' is a brilliant song, can't wait to see the video, email all the request spots for M2, and Juice etc. and lets get this song played!!

they are playing in auckland tonight and i dont think they start till after midnight.

So how was it?

AWESOME

yeah come on, give us all the gossip
UncleBob: I still get lessons after 3 years, it's a painful but fun process.

i've always thought
they should be touring
germany festivals,

w/king crimson or tool or something like that

Auckland crowds are a wierd lot. Give me a good old Dux crowd any day.
I've always said we should be touring German festivals. With King Crimson, very much so. And Tool. Mmm. Or APC. Or Muse, maybe.
Cheers for your support, everyone. You'll see the vid to Six Days on telly soon, we promise. Also keep an eye out for the Brat 3 compilation, due out in Feb 2003 - featuring a remastered mix of Six Days complete with guitars by Az and production by Malcolm "Killjoy" Wellsford.

is there gonna be a whole Az'd and remastered version of the album?

how bout a cripple jazz set. i know you can.

I asked Rene 'bout that. He tells me their old stuff is history, that they are concentrating more on new stuff now they have Az, and that the whole of Chronocide wont be remastered, only the three tracks they have alredy done.

hey fud - its otis, been trying to get in contact witchoo 4 a while - hit me at membranepilot@hotmail.com when u can.

Also, is echomusic the only store we can pick your album up from!?

At this stage, yes, Echo are the only stockists of our CD. But if you want a video, you'll have to email us and be extra nice.

We have posted two videos of "Six Days Of Silence" on our website - both the full video (58Mb) and some live footage from our last Dunedin show (9Mb). These are both free to download now.

who is the crazy guy from the six days vid?

He looks like Marilyn Manson.

His name is Nathan. I met him while I was at Polytech here back in 1999 - he graduated the same day as me. A very talented stiltwalker and acrobat. The eyebrows are tatooed on.
Turns out he used to live over the fence from our old band room - we would see his feet appearing over the top of the fence periodically as he practiced his trampolining.
Totally amiable guy, too - didn't object even slightly to having several kilos of "fresh" (pulled off the beach) seaweed shoved down his gullet for our benefit.

i was lucky enough to catch an amazing set from Cripple on a trip down to Chch last weekend at the dux. Easily becoming one of my fave NZ live acts

It was the shiznit.

But that was merely a 1/3 of their 'set'...Wait till ya get the whole shabang...
I too travell'd a bit to catch them on Sat.
But please give some credit 2 The Dogs as well...They were extra good 2 us that gig.

How did Dan look playing Andy's guitar? THAT I have to see again. Let me know when you can get us that tape.

Rumoured upcoming gigs:
21-06 @ the Dux
28-06 Invercargill
02-08 Wellington
