A follow on from the 'best nz song' topic. If someone who had never heard any NZ music before asked you for 10 albums from the last 10 years to give them a good intro to NZ music, which ones would they be? My ones...

Shihad - Killjoy
Wrong Records Dollar Mixture Compilation (Range, Hawaii 5-0, Caneslide, Wadd, Alpha Plan, etc.)
Straitjacket Fits - Melt
DLT - The True School
Failsafe Avalanche Compilation (Pumpkinhead, 147 Swordfish, Lurch, Loves Ugly Children, Supertanker)
Cinematic - Musicland (had to slip one of mine in)
Range - All the way to Lunch
Bilge Festival - Cape Goat
Flying Nun's Popeyed Compilation (all the usual suspects, alternatively, this could be the topless women soundtrack)
and...Kog's Algorhythm 1 (baitercell, subware, house of downtown, etc.

Compilations are a bit of a cheat, but good to get lots of bands in, and I do actaully listen to all of those albums a fair bit. Anyone else?

Nice. Ah yes, that Shihad 'Yr Head Is a Rock' single! Good thinking -- gets you Letterbox Lambs, Hell is Other People, Weta and Short in one easy hit. And that Wildside compilation is bit of a winner as well.

These the the albums I cannot live without. There are heaps of other top 90s albums that I wanna include, but doing that would cause an anerysm, so I'll stop at that.
