How about some real decent stuff

Local...Pine, Goodshirt, Pheonix Foundation, The Brunettes, Fang, Degrees K. Jacob, Minuit

International...Mogwai, Flaming Lips, the Vines, Datsuns (ahem), Malkamus,..

I guess dreams are free...insteads we will get mostly the usual crap

I'm with you on those all those ones brother.
In a world where dreams are free I'd add the Skeptics, Straightjacket Fits, 3Ds, Shihad (but not Pacifier) and the Clean - all bands that played when Orientation was once worth going to.
Just to show I'm not just a bitter old bastard I'd add to your list Kalvin - Cassette, Mestar, Phelps and Munro, Pan Am and the D4 as some decent young buggars

well said sir!

Definitely Blindspott, Goodshirt, Datsuns........

blindspot should never be put in a sentence with Datsuns or Goodshirt. what an insult.

Quiet night - loud night.

Loud night - Sonic Youth, Rawer, the Incisions, HDU, Birchville cat Motel, Looma
Queit night - Ed harcourt, Phoenix Foundation, Pine, The Brunettes, Cloudboy, John White

Hmmm... a dream week of current bands?
Internationals: Mogwai, And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead, Weezer, Boards Of Canada, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The International Noise Conspiracy, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds.
Locals: Two Lane Black Top, The Phoenix Foundation, The Offbeats, The D4, The Datsuns, Mestar, Aspen (to go along with Boards Of Canada).

I think I would have a good time at THAT orientation...

Oh, sorry - add Arab Strap and Sparklehorse to my international list.

Also, I think a big rave at the Wellington town hall would be a very good thing to do again...

iron maiden, saxon, preist....judas preist, venom, quiet riot and magnum.
fuck yeah that would be rad. supported by deja voodoo.

How about, Tadpole, The Feelers, Mama Said, Anika Moa, Tim Finn and another sad fucken "Exponents Summer Lucre Tour"... Man, it would be cool if it was like that!

Wicked stuff

oh yeah surfing ussr would be good, i think there was a beach party at some orientation, surfing ussr would have to play if they had another beach party.

oh and it would be brilliant to see cripple mr onion with a big crowd going hard out.

id like to add the datsuns to the list, i didnt put them in to start with because i knew i was seeing them tonight, but id gladly see them again.

I heard a very very vague rumour that The Getup Kids could be on the cards. That would be pretty cool.

heck yeah.

The Brunettes and Fang,
Xanadu and The Rock 'n' Roll Machine,
The Datsuns + Goodshirt... an odd one but it could put a few things in perspective me thinks. Hmmmmm... yes.

forget orientation, it is now null and void.
Seafood + The Phoenix Foundation @ Bodega 26th October.
When I heard Seafood were playing I was jumping up and down and running round in circles.
Then I saw Phoenix Foundation are opening, now I'm bouncing off the friggin walls!

oh yeah, (I)NC are playing Aussie soon, string pullers do your job, please.
(International) Noise Conspiracy @ Bodega with Marystaple and Two Lane Blacktop.

CRIPPLE MR ONION.
Of course, I was bound to say that. For everyone in Auckland who's heard us on the Axe Attack and wants to see us live, Cripple Mr Onion are playing at Papa Jacks with the Indicator Dogs on the 14th of November.

I think the Violent Femmes should be brought down (if they still exist, that is...)

That would sell out in an instant.

Nice Guy Eddie where have you been all my life?!
I would have to say:
Internationals: Sparta, Strokes (Schmooze factor), White Stripes, International Noise Conspiracy, The Vines, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Trail Of Dead, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, the Beatings, The Hellacopters, the Cooper Temple Clause, Interpol, Jurassic 5.
Locals: Two Lane Black Top, Datsuns, D4, Cloudboy, Dimmer, Pluto, Trinity Roots, Paselode, Phoenix Foundation etc.
Heres fucken hoping...

I've been right here the whole time, baby.
