It is true that the D4 were described as 'mediocre' in that article, but I find with the NME that any one writer in NME may have sharply differing opinions to others. They did apparently (i didnt read it) give a good review of the album. Plus...the D4 headlined a gig at the London ULU last week that was full (or close to it) so things are going pretty well overall I would think. It was a rawwwkin gig by the way!!
Looking forward to seeing both the D4 and the Datsuns in New York at the end of this month Yaaay. Hope American audiences will get it.
Whoops, something else to add. That issue of NME also had an article on the backlash against 'the Vines' in Australia where they are touring at the moment. Apparently many Aussies dont quite understand what all the hoopla in the UK and (to a lesser extent) the US is all about. Will the same thing happen to the Datsuns in NZ?

I always found D4 a little flat live (no where near the energy of their albums) where as the Datsuns just keep getting tighter and tighter I have seen them 4 times the past year the last being the first homecoming after the V2 signing and my god I was floored by how tight they had become.
Can't wait until the Juggernaut rolls into town tomorrow. pity all the pre-sales are sold out.
