Dont ask me the details... however I ended up this weekend in a party here in Glasgow, with quite possibly the hairest, drunkenest, stonest biker crowd one could meet.
A decent evening was had, beards were discussed, the talents of Queens of the Stone Age were argued, and Hawkwind were played at high volume throughout the night.
Sure enough, it was my turn to put on the sounds (once a few buckets were inhaled) and kittens microwaved... (I jest about the baby cats), and as usual with myself being a kiwi music anorak proceded to place HDU's Cross Channel Multi Tap on the hi-fi...( which I had happened to take with me) ,the jesus look~a~likes looked at me bemused, and proclaimed that although it was good stoner music, it just wouldn't do...(not enough 3 chord riffs)
I then placed the Into the Void CD which created a massive movement towards the volume level, and much enjoyment was had...
When asked about the band I could not answer many questions at all, all I know is that they are on Flying Nun, and apparently moved to Amsterdam (as a wise man does), but I knew no more...
However further Flying Nun releases I had provided that evening were classed as poof music , which is a shame, as I would have loved to have introduce these barbarians to the Verlaines or Tall Dwarfs.
Does anyone know of Into the Void, so the next 'do' of theirs I can provide a bit more info on them?.....

Reports from Christchurch confirm Into the Void haven't moved to Amsterdam. the dialtones played with them at the dux on thursday the 10th of may this year, and Paul Sutherland (the crazy bearded one - see below) - was seen at the latest dialtones gig at the dux last thursday (June 28th).
In fact, that gig was notable because two of the voiders - Dave and drummer Jamie - played 'warm up music' that featured drumbeats from jamie and dave 'playing' a spring reverb unit he ripped out of
a fender amp.
The best thing about into the void is their use of a crazed
bearded librarian to play strange records at various speeds and in
different directions at their gigs, and when you think you can hear what he's doing he gets bored and puts another record on, and you realise it wasn't him you were listening to - the guy isn't even miked up, i think he's just there as a kind of 'into the void go-go dancer'.
The Void survive because, as King Loser would say, "you cannot kill what does not live".
