Wilco?!!! Am I read that correctly.

?

Dave Grohl is drumming for both the Foo Fighters and Queens of the stoneage. So yeah it will be a busy day for him.
I can't wait. I absolutely love the Foo Fighters and i missed out on seeing them last time they were here so this Big Day Out is gonna be awesome.

who told you?
I have a feeling the Danzig guy will be drumming. Dave Grohl might drum for one song maybe.

It's true. Dave is drumming for Queens of the Stone Age.
It's on the website.

where does it say he will be drumming for BDO?

Dave said about a month ago he wouldn't be, he might play a song or 2

not wanting to be a dick, but i dont think grohl will be drumming for foo fighters, seeing as hes the guitarist and lead singer. so he'll only be drumming for QOTSA ...so...um...yeah!!!!

Dave will not be playing drums with the Foo Fighters!!

I missed the Foo Fighters bit but yeah of course he won't be.

Fuckin Awesome! Foo Fighters have been my favourite band since 1996 when I was 12 years old. Nirvana was the first band I ever liked so I'm a huge fan of Dave Grohl. A friend of mine saw Foo Fighters and Dave Grohl drumming for QOTSA live in Germany 3 days a go!

I'd prefer to see foo fighters at their own concert. Saw them in 98 and 2000 and they were so much better in 98 playing their own show. The BDO has way too many people.. almost too many to appreciate the music.

Cool another Foo fan is here!!!
I agree on everything you just said, they haven't done their own show here since 98 which totally sucks.
//Dave Grohl drumming for QOTSA live in Germany 3 days a go!
This must have been a typo, that would have been 3 months ago

Foo Fighters are gonna rock!:) Never seen them live but I love them so i cant wait!

Queens of the Stoneage should have a drummer by now, or what is the deal with them and drummers? And i thought dave would say he would play for only ONE song

Joey Castillo (ex Danzig) has been their drummer this July when Dave left.
//what is the deal with them and drummers?
deal?? whay deal?? they haven't had many drummers, 3 or 4 I think.
//And i thought dave would say he would play for only ONE song
Where did you hear/see this??

//this July when Dave left.
that should say - since July when Dave left....... damn it for not having a edit button!!

Yeah...I am looking forward to the Foo Fighters the most. Never seen them before, i hope i rocks :)

Personally - The Music. These guys are supposed to be amazing live. I was a little dissapointed with the album - but its going to be awsome shake bootie to.

ohmygod r the vines seriously coming to BDO!!!!!! Wicked!!!!!
They werent announced yesterday morning?
But YAY!!!!

did anyone hear that korn might be coming?

Yeah i heard that today!

does anyone know if it is true or not are korn really coming to the bigdayout2003?

It's rumoured that Korn will be coming but so far no announcements about it have been made. You'll just have to wait till the next lineup announcement.
I also heard rumours that Weezer, Phantom Planet and Puddle of Mudd will be coming but they are only rumours.

OMFG KORN AND DEFTONES WOOHOO !!!

hopefully BDO gets one of the bands who played australias livid festival - THE INTERNATIONAL NOISE CONSPIRACY, who would be wicked live, and it could be hopeful as they have done heaps of touring this year..

Wow - Kraftwerk!!! How old are those guys now? I never thought I'd see them play. It should be amazing. "Vee are da robots..."

Big Day Out 2003 NZM meet.

anyone keen?

Yeah... why not?

cool, the main problem is of course logistics.
Where and when to meet.
Any ideas?
I know there are more people than NiceGuyEddie that are keen.

maybe meeting for dinner the night before or breakfast the morning after would be better, as there is constant stuff happening at bdo and finding a time when everyone would want to meet is pretty crazy..

Maybe we could just all print off nametags with our icons and plaster them on our foreheads.

maybe there should be a large nzm banner that is sent off with vairous members to music gatherings, to be planted some where as the place to meet

maybe rock will be the winner on the day and we should just get pissed afterwards.

// Maybe we could just all print off nametags with our icons and plaster them on our foreheads.

Apparently I look just like my icon anyway...

Why don't we all meet at the Hare Krishna food stall at about lunch time? (last year, it was beside the Lilypad.) We could all get a lovely vege samosa for lunch (healthy and cheap - by far the best food available at the BDO, hands down) and stand around burning the tops of our mouths and chatting about stuff before heading off into the crowd to see who we wanna see. That way, we'll be able to recognise eachother all day long, and say Yo! to eachother when we find ourselves in the same mosh pit (if that's your thing...:)

how bought a keg in the carpark at 7am

I'll be there.

anyone up for breakfast at "atomic" on ponsonby road say 11am the morming after bdo? fuckn good breakfasts, nice tables outside out the back. i do atomic everytime i'm in akl.

I'll be there with a couple of crew i'm heading up with anyway, so cruise on in if you're still around

Every time I've been at Atomic an a Sat morning it's been packed out. It's difficult enough just getting a couple of seats.

sweet bring the keg

ok, I bring the keg you bring the beer.

// anyone up for breakfast at "atomic"

sounds good but depends on my posse.

where's somewhere real shit, that no one will be at:) nah..seriously, any other ideas? does aka have a bach up in akl, cause she could put on another bbq.

So no go huh?
Anyways I'll most likely be the guy with the black nzmusic.com t-shirt.
Come up and say hi if you see me.

how bout Verona on thursday night

Byzantium(so) does the best eggs benny in Auckland

Brazil do great food and the best coffee in Auckland, but they get pretty busy too. Roasted Addiqtion in Kingsland - great food, and the Cafeteria's a coupla doors down - great food, backyard. If there's a really big posse, then we could work both of them.

A NZM meet at BDO would be kind of hard - I know my movements tend to be focussed on the timetable and otherwise randomly seeking beer or those vegetarian chips. Saturday might work, if we could agree on a place - walking distance of central Auckland would be good.

who wants to contribute to the 'find carl somewhere to stay' fund?
ill see you all in the car park.

picnic in the domain!
hey, at least we know we'll never run out of space.
