deftones are not this numetal thing you speak of. they've released three albums, one being straight out aggressive; one oozing sex guitars and melodies; and the other which is as haunting as it is beautiful. doesn't sound very numetal to me.

as long as chino stays sober, it'll be a fucking blast.

Korn are rumoured to be coming to the big day out but it is at the moment only a rumour. I also heard rumours that Phantom Planet, Puddle of Mudd and Weezer will be coming. I guess we'll just have to wait till the next line-up announcement.
Anyone know when that is?

I'll sign the petition too, Vietnow. Back to the NuMetal argument - my difinition being big bad boys singing cry-baby lyrics over top of thin, bad sounding guitars and drums. I think there's also some connection with glam metal - costumes, stage make up. More about the image than the musical content.
Has anyone heard if any of the bands/ artists playing are doing gigs anywhere else while they're here?
Imagine if Gunners played.

i personaly like all genres with the word metal in them so i dont really see the big argument.
the different styles of metal just really deend on the different styles of music influenced the bands who play.
so really who really knows the next style of metal which is gonna arise
it could even be a mix of pop reggae and heavymetal(god help us if it is) but it all just depends on the musical style and age of the listener
