I think if anyone is capable of delivering it, they are, but they don't. Under The Influence and Che (when I say "HO" you say "MO") Fu, boring equitable dribble. I guess it's a blessing that Tadpole aren't in there, but then again, I bet they weren't far off in the tally. Would be interesting to see the results posted from the different regions (eg: RDU, Active, The Most, The Palmy one and Radio One), I reckon it would provide a much more balanced indication of the "Common Hand". From what I can see, the "Common Hand" resides right here in Tamaki and is furiously tugging itself for all it's worth. Then again, what would I know?

Well for a start I think that after John Peel saying "The Datsuns are the best rock n roll band in the world" and the overall wee storm they are and have created internationally, perhaps they should have got the International Achievement award instead of the D4?
Said Peel said The D4 were the best band at The Glastonbury Festival & The Datsuns played there too....damn he's inconsistant in his old age.
Maybe cos The D4 have released their album this year so 25 or 30 thousand to date (according to Real Grooves editors letter this month), and The Datsuns are currently supporting The D4 everywhere.
I reckon it's only fair The D4 whupped ass this year. The Datsuns will clean up next year on that score.

And while I agree with a lot of the harsh remarks (was at the awards and it was the first time I'd seen Salmonella Dub and it wasn't bad but I'd have to question the "Best" in their Best Live Act award). Let's just appreciate how much better the Auckland (I mean B-net!) awards are than the fucking embarrasing shite that is the TUIS. Because it must be said that at least the stuff, no matter how uninspiring has got SOME integrity...
