50Hz's new album Carbon is out this week.
It's been five years since the release of his acclaimed debut drum & bass full length Cyclehum, which was released in 1997 and named as one of Rip It Up's Top 100 NZ Albums Of All Time in 2000.
On Carbon Hz has broadened his scope considerably to include jazz, soul, downbeat and dub tracks as well as a handful of tracks in his signature cinematic breakbeat sound.
Guests include vocalists Ladi6 (Sheelahroc/Verse 2), Barnaby Weir (The Black Seeds/Dub Connection), Miss La (The Torch Set), Conrad Noema (Maia) and Pepsi Demacque (Wham!/Pespi & Shirley), and musicians from Fat Freddy's Drop, Ebb, The Black Seeds and Southside Of Bombay.
The album's lead single "Seek Know More" featuring Ladi6 debuted in the Top 10 of New Zealand's Alternative Radio Airplay Chart last week and is already number 1 on Radio Active's Top 11. Nice.
