ok i know this topic is gunna start alot of debate but i know its true for the word and i strongly believe in it. NEW ZEALAND SHOULD HURRY UP AND LEGALISE CANNABIS no ifs, no buts, no whys, now hows just fucken legalise the green shit m8....here is why.

TEH MISUSE OF DRUGS ACT IS THE CRIME: allowing police to invade privacy by using excessive and illegal, Unwarranted search powers even on private homes, Illegally tapping private telephone calls, Imposing severe and unusual punishments for possessing life giving herbs while sponsoring the consumption of deadly tars and sugars and Classifying a natural non toxic and non-addictive herb in the same category as anabolic steroids, and barbituates which unlike cannabis can be fatal when taken in large doses.

PROHIBITION DIVERTS POLICE RESOURCES AWAY FROM REAL CRIMES: at the same time a cannabis user is being illegally searched and busted for not hurting anybody or there property a burglar is breaking into ap private home, terrorising a family and run off with their victims assets and are often never caught. Police resourcs are overstretched and should be placed on fighting real crimes - crimes against people and property.

PROHIBITION CREATES DISRESPECT FOR POLICE AND AUTHORITY: as a result of cannabis prohibition cops are referred to as "pigs", nazis or "the gestapo" and as a result of the boys in blue placing priority on pot smokers over burglars and murderers, police are further alienated for enforcing an unjust, national socialist, hitlerist law

PROHIBITION CREATES HYPOCRISY: that deadly, highly addictive and legal drugs such as alcohol and tobacco remain legal and are sponsored whilst safe non toxic and non addictive drugs remain illegal, the cannabis addiction rate is less than 1% whereas tobacco is 90%.

PROHIBITION DENIES HEAVY USERS TREATMENTS: for those that are habitual cannabis users, they refrain from attending treatment due to fear of the treatment providers denouncing them for a disease they have no control over, addiction of any kind is a disease and if drug addicts are thrown in jail it makes more sense to throw somebody with the flu in jail to avoid infecting others (incidently the flu empidemic at the end of WW1 killed 6000 kiwis)

PROHIBITION HAS TURNED "DEMOCRATICALLY RULED" NEW ZEALAND INTO A DICTATORSHIP: the misuse of drugs act turned a once free western democracy of new zealand into a national socialist dictatorship, with authorities having the darndest right to tap into private phone calls, bug peoples private homes, spy on the peaceful and gentle and their mates, and given the SS power to randomly stop a longhaired hippie in the street while a trendy and "with it" person walks stone free without fear of harrassment from the Gestapo.

it shigh time to legalise, if not, we are just going to have to resort to "approprate action" - opening coffeeshops, parliamentary smoke-ins and possibly a north-south march similar to what dame whina cooper did in 1975.
