i'm with you pitchblack, the trouble with forumula poprock is the formula wears thin after the 2nd time let alone the 10th pity good morning didn't drop them because they are boring time to go back to the garage boys there are plenty of great kiwi bands to show you the way out murray cammick must know a couple

I wouldn't call Sommerset, Clowndog, Kitsch or Betchadupa punk either. The only New Zealand band that comes close to it are Foamy Ed. But then again Punk Rock had no rules it was more of an attitude but the last thing i wanna do is start a Punk Rock ideals debate.
I like Rubicon, I'm not afraid to say it. What can i say their music is catchy and i got through them from "The Captain", besides its something different. Rubicon have fun doing what they do and they do what they do well. But I do think they deserve critisism but not as repetitive mindless carry on.

I was appalled when I saw Rubicon smash their gear on Space. Rock stars smash gear, and it takes a certain stlye of music and panache to pull it off successfully without looking like try hard small timers - Rubicon failed miserably. When I saw Pearl Jam smash their gear on the Tonight show back in '93 it was awesome, straight after an angsty performance of 'Animal' - They had earned it. But watching Rubicon perform their little number - 'Rubicon City' (a bright and upbeat cheese-pop happy tune) and then proceed to put on angry faces and smash their instruments before storming off stage left me no more than totally dissapointed at the state of New Zealand pop rock. If you can't sympathise with me, try imagining the Backstreet Boys having a tantrum and stomping on their headsets after performing "I Want it That Way" - If TVNZ has infact banned Rubicon, I say good on them.
