live journal?

does anyone here have a live journal? i'm bored and i feel like reading about other peoples crappy lives rather than sulk about my own ;)

Forums: The Bar,

What? Like are diary or something??
I thought that type of shit is meant to be personal

live journal is more like a community. you add your friends to your "friend list" and you can read their diaries / they can read your diary, and you can post comments etc.

Yeah thats the same as dead journal. It's quite cool cos you get peoples opinions on shit thats happening in your life, but it doesn't leave the net:)

I have a dead journal-its the same sort of thing I guess, just maybe more depressing. Lol. Except you have to have an account to read most of my entries so thats pretty pointless.

i have a deadjournal [username: jenni_punk] - peeps can add me to their friends list if they want....just reply to a comment in my journal with your user name [so i can add you].

prozaco - you can read my public one if you want, since you are obviously a livejournal member, not a deadjournal one. lol [it doesnt have any good messages in it tho - coz um, i turn my settings so that only my dj friends can view it - so you'll just see ramblings which i post when i can't be fucked posting a full message] just click the below link:

I have a diaryland thing but yeah ain't going to tell what it is.

those are shit mate, i tried to get one of those up and running but i couldnt handle the jandle. but, oh well - what ever works for ya i guess?....

i'd prefer to have a livejournal - but i'm not complaining about dj. livejournal is more exclusive [you need a code to actually get a journal - and they aint easy to get hold of unless a mate has one to give you]....

eh, some of my friends have them so I jumped on board. If you know your html diaryland pages are very customisable. You can put in the weblog style but I prefer the one entry per page deal.

yes, well see, i'm just a dumb blonde who can't get the hang of html - thats why i like dj - you can customise your pages to something pretty close to good without too much hassle...plus dj is fully html capable and shit....

one entry per page.....doesnt that take up a whole pile of room?...is there a max. number of pages one can have??? - enlighten me on the workings of diaryland plz stefan

not sure on the size issues or differences between one page per entry and weblog styles, as far as I know there is no maximum limit. Basically with diaryland you set up a template (your own or one of their premade ones) and then add your entry via a form page. You can edit entries whenever and give each html page whatever name you like. Standard stuff really, easy to use.

http://www.diaryland.com ]

thats right -=> go ahead, make me feel more stupid....*hangs head*....

do you have to use html on this form page?? or is it like dj where its just a form - you press okay and then your message appears according to your settings?....

If you want to put words in bold or italics then you have to use html. Links may work normally but I use html tags anyway. You have the option of having it insert paragraph tags for you automatically or you can use break tags if you want.

hmmm...sounds very easy to use. yet, ALOT like dj....have you been to dj.com stefan?.

i think the main difference between dairy land and dj is how much you can personalise your journal - with dj you are given a choice of 5 or 6 templates [which you can alter so that your friends see a different view to you when you are logged in], you pick colours, and you pick little emoticons [i've got mine as lil animated stars etc], you can also add lil pics to your name - so that when ever your name comes up in your friends list your personalised header type thing is a picture and your name [linked back to your journal] - very complex really *sarcasim*....

i think i might have to go have a more thorough look at this dairyland - see if you are a man of your words. yet - cannot drop dj - been a faithfull, yet negative, friend for over six months now.

just one more question - is the diaryland server down often?....or is it fairly easy to load up?...runs well?...does it take ages to load?

been to live journal, not dead journal though.
yeah diaryland doesn't have emoticons but for me that is no biggy.
the server goes down now and then. it doesn't take too long to load. runs fine.
it is in some ways a bare bones type journal, does the job.

deadjournal is basically just the 'negative', and complete opposite of live journal [hence the name lol]. i reccomend you look at dj tho...not much to see really - just a bit blacker.

just having a squiz at diaryland -=> very 'pretty' lol.

you can upload pics into your entries with diaryland aye?.

with the "gold" account (ie you have to pay) yes but there is a way around. just load your pics on another server and link to them in your journal.

ahh, you are the cunning one then arent you?....

i have both, a deadjournal and a diaryland...and a blogger and id have to say that deadjournal has got to be the better of the three, even with its temperamental server

Look, I got one. Not a lot yet. & there prob won't be much either, I'm not a diary person & I don't want people reading my deepest thoughts.

yeah neither was i but it kinda grew on me.

my dj is just total mindless ramble and doesnt really make much sense - much like me. but they're a good way of venting your anger.

i'd have to say, its A LOT easier than having to write out 'your deepest thoughts' by hand tho....

[megaccino - i replied to ure post with a few side notes (my gawd i feel nosey, lol....) - if you feel you want to know some cool things about dj - fuck, the deadjournal people should pay me hansomly (sp?) for this...all that promo i've been giving them]

//good way of venting your anger.
more like bitching about/too your friends don't ya think hayley?? lol.....by-jezuzzzz....i think you should talk about me more in your journal [in a nice way...], i feel unloved [hey - i mention you all the f-ing time]...how would you feel about a fone call tonight?

I think that's what mine's gonna be. Mindless ranting and venting.

(Jenni. Thank you for the spelling of cappuccino. I did full update for the first part, yep, I like choosing the mood & thinking of a song. I will have pics soon, just gotta resize my South Park Mega.)

bitching/venting - whatever....
it gets easier to work the more you use it.

what? i dont have anything to say about you. and if i do its generally in the non-nice sense.

if anyone wants mine user name mail me : gidgetimplant@hotmail.com - dont know why you would...

mindless ranting and venting is so the best kind.

no worries.....don't thank me, thank my faithful 'Collins shorter english dictionary' - kept safe beside the keyboard for all ranting needs [esp. when one is on nzmusic.com] lol.

mindless ranting and venting - thats what its all about, its good - coz you actually think someone cares what you've written, yet you don't have to face the rejection of it all when a friend says to you "shut up"....coz you're ranting about crap, thats they quite frankly don't care about....

*shuts up now*

//what? i dont have anything to say about you. and if i do its generally in the non-nice sense.

- no shit sherlock!, did i not just say that. lol. FIND something nice to say about me. and i might say something back. no wait - i'll start a trend, you have nice hair. :oP.

yes shush!

lol sadly this is the most ive posted in here at one time...

jenni you know lani's got a dj? *hi lani*

lol. no i did not know lani had a dj - wots her user name? [txt it to me]....i'll add it, while i'm in the process of sorting out my friends list.

lol...you think its sad that this is the most you've written in here??? - omg, i'm friggin addicted to nzmusic.com - i think its coz i dont have msn. lol. apparently i'm only 14% addicted to instant messager - but still....i think i need help, i spend farrr to much time writing *not very good* messages in the bar forum. lol....

okay, right - i better go do some revision [fuck i am sooo not looking forward to this math exam - someone kill me now plz]....and i promise not to ramble in here anymore....

are you in? is just about to be on four btw hayley.

omg that ch z ad is funny - "work it for the camera guys...make your mother proud"....

yes i converted her the other night.

nah i like reading the stuff in here but hardly ever post. nah i have msn and it sucks...(in ways) i have not many ppl to talk to and i need a change. anyone wanna add me?!? thats a selfless promotion if ever i saw one...if that makes any sense...

soo anyways...journals....

you make it sounds like dj is a religion - oh wait, i forgot - it is. lol.

I do things a bit differently. I have an old fashioned paper diary and I used that to get rid of all my whining, bitching, gossip and the usual stuff that people stick up on their online journals. The good thing about it is it's 100% true, there's no need to not write about people who might be offended or leave out details that might embarass me.

Then, with all the crap out of the way, what's left over I stick up on my web site. It works out well that way.

I'm sorry, but I can't belive people can actually type out this for everyone to see. I don't know, I think its kinda boring

You're right, they are hell BORING & I don't think I'll bother with mine ever again. The ThirdEyeCons kept me entertained for a day... ohhhh, Tool.. :)

But I don't get who would read them? I've looked at some other peoples & have not been entertained at all. b-o-r-i-n-g.

most of my friends (people i know in real life) have livejournals and so do i. i like it because i get to read what theyre up to and how they are doing even when i havent seen them in a while. plus, my boyfriend has got one, and its always nice to read what he has to say about me :)

i love reading them.... but only when i know the people. i have no interest in reading some random persons journal.

//i love reading them.... but only when i know the people. i have no interest in reading some random persons journal.

yes - i agree, otherwise you sit there going "wtf?????"....like you have no idea whats going on and shit. lol.

i think they save time, or not, lol. i just spent an hour writing a post up. not to worry tama drummer - i was doing other things at the same time. [just before you get in with your two cents worth]

//not to worry tama drummer - i was doing other things at the same time. [just before you get in with your two cents worth]

hehe

prozaco, absolutely no offence intended but

//my boyfriend has got one, and its always nice to read what he has to say about me

shouldnt you be able to communicate this sorta shit in person? id hate to think it's just another example of the communication impaired tech generation......

ahahaahaa, don't worry jimi, its not like that. its more like.... i get insanely drunk on the weekend and forget everything i did until i check his livejournal and it says "ambulance ride to hospital" or something. lol! we're soppy in person, not on livejournal ;) i still like to read what hes up to though.

hahaha sweet as. sounds like the perfect relationship....... :)

have u tried it?

nope & can't be bothered either

i have a dj, only cos i read a few of my friends and thought, hey why not.. i dont write my deepest darkest secrets in there.. i do go into a few details.. some are quite raunchy. wooooooooooooo
