k8 luves zed: go to their website www.jester.co.nz and have a look. Both them and Uncle Monkey play the same sort of music.......very cool! glad to know there is another Jester fan out there.

what I have found hard is buying the ...

what I have found hard is buying the smaller NZ band's music in the shops. I went into one shop asking for the Before Friday single (which is now quite popular) and she informed me that they had a couple but sold out and weren't getting any more in.....no wonder it's so hard for bands to get any where.

yeah i like that before friday song. meterman are bringing out a debut ep this week or something like that ne way something like that which should be quite good. also its hard to even find out if the bands have recorded ne thing coz the staff at music shops r pretty clueless, like who r they or i dunno if we have the betchadupa cd and its like.... well can ya check lol

I went into a store asking for the new ...

I went into a store asking for the new Uncle Monkey single which has just been released and she informed me that they couldn't stock it (or even get it in for me) as it was with an independant record company or something like that. Do you think she may have thought to herself, maybe they are with an independant record company because no one will sell or play their music (on radio) so they can't get a record deal? Lets just hope these little bands don't give up!

yeah. a lot of bands are poud of not having a lable. i guess its coz they have a lot more input in their music and stuff but maybe its easier to get ur music out if u have a reacord label?
