What's up with Kings Arms Audiences

Last night I saw 3 awsome bands at the Kings Arms. Stylus, Stardrunk and Stadium. It was a mere $5 to get in. There was a good turn out for a Thursday night, more people than I was expecting in fact. All 3 bands ripped shit up! So whats the problem? The Audience thats what!! They just stood there, as far from the stage as they could get, looking bored. Sure they clapped politely between songs but it was a ROCK CONCERT for fucks sake! They only guy who seemed to be having a good time was the pissed old man dancing by himself infront of the stage! And then when it was all over everyone was talking about how good the gig was saying how it was rare for every band on the line-up to be that good. What the Fuck? I guess Aucklanders are just too cool to show their emotions!

the layout is wierd at ka - front door ...

the layout is wierd at ka - front door right by the stage, front feels really brightly lit, windows right there so all the people outside can look in - I dunno, I've been there a couple of times and wondered whether it was the crowd or more that the space just doesn't feel comfortable to jump around in?

i agree... the layout is very weird. being anywhere near the front of the stage makes you feel like the center of attention, so most people (bar the drunks) stay away from there. of course, when its really packed (ie. the datsuns), the crowd does rawk.

i was there, and like everyone else ...

i was there, and like everyone else thought the bands were bloody awesome, but yeah i think just cos no one else was rocking hard no one wanted to, myself included i suppose. So I stood by the bar and watched and enjoyed.
(oh did you hear the singer from stylus at the end of one of the songs say "big ups to the person clapping with their hands in the air" ?? or something like that, well that was me!! gave me a big thrill, :p)
