I've seen Looma play a number of times in Wellington and each time i've seen them they have blown me, and sometimes the bands they are supporting (Letterbox Lambs), away. Their performance at the stomach was masterfull and tight. Malcom's beats and Elise's bass playing layed down a tasty and solid rythmic bed to which Jess accompanied brilliantly with some well constructed melodies and noise. Imagine Dinosour Jr/MBV meets HDU. Looma took stage third after locals Nana Sqaud and Oversight and played to a medium-sized and appreciative audience. Each time i've seen em they always seem to out-do their previous performance - they just keep gettin tastier... Check em out on the 23rd at the Valve, with Po-ha (www.po-ha.com) and Motorsheep. You wont be dissapointed.
