Tourist are currently in the studio recording their 2nd independent release ep. It's sounding great so far, but we're still searching for a drummer! We'd like to get someone who is dedicated and professional in attitude and has got a good feel for what fits into a song. If you think this is you, drop us a line and we'll get you a copy of the old ep, and the new one when it's mixed and mastered. Choice.
Tourist are in Wellington this weekend to help promote their new single "Do you feel the cold" which they have recorded with Greg Haver (Manic st preachers/Catatonia) through NZOnAir Funding.
Tonight catch Tourist with Jeremy Taylor (ex cinematic) at the Katipo Cafe from 8 for a relaxed acoustic set.
Saturday night Tourist are joined by the Midwest Motorparts Corral and Halo at the Cross from 9pm.
Both gigs $5
Hey, Dave here from Halo, we opened for these dudes in wellington last saturday and it was a pleasure. Great band with a great sound. Let us know when you're coming back guys! we'd be keen to do it again sometime.
Why thank you Dave - it was certainly a pleasure doing our first gigs in Welly, we're hoping to get down there again in July sometime. Big thanks to everyone down there who played with us, lent us gear, came to the shows and let us sleep in their house! Stayed tuned for website update happeniong any day now and the the new video which should be gracing your tv screens in the coming weeks. The current single "Do you feel the cold" is on Channel Z now - ring and request it! It'll packaged up with 2 b sides and the video on an enhanced cd out very very soon.....

Regarding sound - it sounded awesome in the studio when we recorded the piece. Our friends at the taping said it sounded great out front and it was definitely the best monitor mix we've ever had onstage. I thought that the broadcast mix didn't really reflect the performance on the day - but I guess that they've got to take into account that people watching on their 14" tv with the 1" speaker need to hear it all too (ie: they can't mix it in a "hi-fi" way). Anyway - we had a great time doing it and hope to be invited back sometime.
