There are a bunch of "find your old ...
There are a bunch of "find your old school mates" sites out there. I signed up for a bunch of them a while ago, and I discovered that findakiwi.co.nz had by far the largest number of people from my old schools on it.
Yeah, it sucks that you have to pay to contact people, but on the other hand the people running the site do have costs to cover and they're providing a pretty cool service.
Of course there are aways around it. You can make subtle hints at what your email address may be, or perhaps describe certain keywords that people can search for to get to your web page (if you have one).
As for stories of former students, I was delighted to read that one girl from my high school had been engaged to a guy but broke up with him because he was "doing drugs". She removed that from her profile a few weeks later. Lots of fun.
