NAVALMORAL DE LA MATA, Spain (AP) -- Singer Dryden Mitchell and the other three members of hard rock band Alien Ant Farm were hospitalized Wednesday after their bus collided with a truck, killing their British driver, a record company spokesman said.
Mitchell was under observation for a neck injury at Campo Aranuelo hospital in the western Caceres province town of Navalmoral de la Mata, where the collision occurred, said Jose Puig of the Universal Music Group.
A second driver and a bodyguard were also in hospital with injuries, he said.
Guitarist Terry Corso, bassist Tye Zamora and drummer Mike Cosgrove were released following treatment of broken bones, sprains and bruises, according to Puig.
"They're all OK. That's what's important," he said, declining to comment on the circumstances of the crash.
The Spanish news agency Efe said the band's vehicle, driven by a British chauffeur identified only by the initials C.H., rear-ended the truck on the approach to a mountain tunnel.
The group was on its way to Lisbon, Portugal, for a concert Wednesday evening. An appearance Friday at Madrid's Festimad festival also had to be canceled because of the accident.
Alien Ant Farm was formed in 1996 in Riverside, California. Last month, its latest album "Anthology" won best hard rock/heavy metal album at the California Music Awards.
