I used to listen to National Radio on a Saturday a lot - Selector & Homegrown. I have Z on in the car and it is pretty good, I think. I have wicked broadband at work so I can listen to NZ Music Radio and other shoutcasty things. Nothing less than 128 though.
BTW, I take it the situation you're asking about is where you want to hear music and only have the radio rather than your own cds? I can't think of a situation where I am forced to listen to radio but have a choice of station.
all that stuff on the national radio is still there, along with the mix.........but later in the afternoon.........at 1.30 they have a beebeeabceb (BBC) reading of lord of the rings that gona take another 6 months before it ends.......
it pretty good.
for a 14 yr old its kind of weird, but i really like national radio. its got good stories on it, and good discussions. i also like when they do a special on a band or somethin. i dont think they so that anymore. it used to be on sundays.i am really likin the reading of LOTR.....god im a geek :P
i dont really listen to the radio. its too annoying when youve requested a song and you manage to hear that nickelback song EIGHT times while youre waiting for them to play your song, and AAGGHHH!! so frustrating! i mean, why not play nickelback, SEVEN times, and marystaple just ONCE.
#*^&$!!
anyway, yeah im talking about channel z. i do listen to it sometimes though, just cant handle it for a long amount of time. other than that i listen to the rock... or national radio. if all of that is pissing me off, i'll tune into classic hits or something.
i dont know... as i said, i barely listen to the radio anymore.
Ditto. & Mp3s.
On the rare occasion I do listen to the radio, it's usually Channel Z, but if it's not a good song, I'll turn straight off again. I also use it to wake up with, but put on a CD as soon as I'm awake enough to do so.
me too...i hardly ever listen to the radio any more.
when i do, it's 'the generator', a local hamilton uni station...which is pretty cool.
and i have about 100 cd's...so i'm never short of anything to listen to :)
i hardly listen to radio anymore...
i have to admit that i listen to zm to wake up to - but thats because i like polly and grant - they crack me up... and they hardly ever play any music - like one song every 10 minutes... its mainly talking.... and then i turn it off..... cds are good....
of course of course, radio active, atleast they don't have crap songs, & they don't need to worry about appealin to certain music audiences, they play what they like which ususally comes out well
i only listen to the radio when im at work, because im not really allowed to play my tapes/cd's.
i make sure i have the stereo tuned to RDU (student radio station with good music) because all the other ones SUCK SUCK SUCK SUCK
thats one of the great things about b-net stations, they arent confined to a genre (the rock) or how $ucce$$ful the song is (the edge), a great mix with a great kiwi content. that makes commercial stations shake in their snakeskin boots. they dont need a laundrymat, they can take them to the vet. (had to do the clash thing).
the rock is shit, the edge is shit, zm is shit, classic hits, well they shoudl re-name it to classic SHIT. used to listen to Z when i was living in wellington but it didnt impress me very much.
i listen to 92.3 The Most FM (new plymouths b-net station) , great station, great music and i hear the guy who does the drive show is a fucking legend. (in his own mind)
Radio Active...hard case bunch of pep's...excellent music range from Jazz & dub & d & b. Loads of support for NZ music, art & performers. All round brilliance (:
