These guys' definately rock! I heard they missed out on being a supporting act for Incubus by only a hairs' breath....damn shame....it was a good gig... would've been better opening with the PIERCED sound! Yee howww
I watched this band play about a year ago, and they were pretty good then......I'm not sure what they sound like now.......
What's happening with this band anyway, cause I might be keen to go to a gig if these guys are playing somewhere soon.
Hey guys & gals,
Cheers for all the comments- very much appreciated!!!!! We played up at Victoria University last week and had a good show. We are currently mixing some tracks in the studio and the finishing touches are being completed on our video "Painted Angels". If you want to find out more go to our website (which a few of you already have). So bear with us we are starting to pick things up......and we'll keep you informed.

Hi Guys, dunno if you remember me la. It's James here from Singapore. You guys were really massive in singapore, no contest la, I love your music and I hope you come back soon. Everybody here wants to see you play here again. Any plans for a return visit soon?
I saw these guys in singapore too, really great band. Their music just blew me away, I loved how their songs developed and increased in intensity.......very cool.
You guys probably won't remember me at your gig , but I was at the Sonix Pressure gig.
You guys should come back to sg, some of my friends didn't get to see you when you were here.
I think they said something at the gig I went to about an Ep or single that was going around.
I haven't seen it in any record stores yet though. ( but then again, I don't usually check out the singles or Ep sections of the record store.......maybe I'll do that next time )
Yeah, I heard them on active as well. The recording could have been better though, I mean these guys have a really awesome live sound, and that power didn't seem to come across as well on the radio.
Got dragged along to Indago in Wellington to see these folk. Kind of blew me away at their raw power, would like to see them on a bigger stage. Their set was too short, can't wait until they get a longer set, cause their sound kicks arse.
I'm pretty sure this band rocks. I went to their gig in indigo and I was pretty wasted at the time, but I'm sure I would have known if their music sucked......so at the very least, their music doesn't suck. It was actually kinda trippy if I recall correctly........
I hope I haven't gotten this band mixed up with another band, but the name pierced was definitely on the poster that I saw outside indigo, so yeah.......unless there's another band named pierced.......okay, I'm just rambling now.

Orvassus, I think I was at that gig - pretty wicked time! leo, yeah, know what you mean, Painted Angels and the second song they play in the set always go off! Then that last one, with the foreign title I can't pronouce, geez, talk about blow you away!
See ya at the next gig!

Hey was anyone at their last gig, the Lower Hutt one? Who was the singer talking about? I'm all curious now.... >:o|
I had to leave halfway through the set, so didn't get a chance to chat to them after
see, they've got a gig at some bar in town this wednesday. This time I'm going to go see them sober ( well, almost sober ). Finally get to check out their sound properly, and confirm my suspicions about them being good.
What's the name of that damn bar that their playing at.......I saw the poster or something somewhere......I'll have to go into town tommorrow and have a look again.......f**kin crap memory

Hey thanks for all the support guys. Would just like to say a HUGE "ta" for all those who rallied behind us this Friday, after our earlier disappointment. Great to start recognising some familiar faces!
For those of you not able to make it, Pierced won the Victoria University Battle of the Bands this past Friday. This was against some very stiff competition, should I add, from the likes of Wishbone, Loki and Acibay (sorry if I mispelt that). Thanks for all the support once again guys!
You guys are Awesome, congratulations on winning the VUWSA Battle of the Bands last week. You guys were real tight and had a highly original and unique sound. Massive Respect from L.

Saw in the paper gigs with blindspott in Welli/Lower Hutt and the armageddon thing the week after (?).....finally an attempt at world domination guys : )
Hey - Saw Pierced for the first time last night (Supporting Blindspott) and I was really impressed - You guys were mad. Hope to see you play again soon.

Ah haven't been on this posting for a while....YEE HOAWWWW....Pierced rocking Wellington something cronic eh? Nice one lads, good to hear about the battle of the bands, I heard conflicting reports about it, so it's good to hear direct from the horses mouth.
So who's up for the gig tonight, in support of Blindspott eh? Nice one lads....Plus I've noted another gig playing with Salmonela Dub (er, not quite your guy's style?) the week after? Nice one brova....
Time to wake up the promoters .....

ooo, I keep on posting and posting the website link automatically, that I didn't actually look at it again until now....it's had a major revamp! Nice one laddies....although you might wanna warn a poor 56ker like me about the flash content! That's some pretty slick photography...enough to keep the lassies salavating for ages I'm sure..... (wink wink)
Well, in my quest to find the next gig with Pierced I found out that they will be playing at the Armageddon Pulp Expo (or something like that) on Sunday the 24th ... this sunday anyway. It's some sort of animation, comic, cartoony thing I think (DBZ kinda things ...) .... although my $12 to get in will solely be to see Pierced (and Salmonella Dub, who are playing after them) Yay.
Submitted by SevenHelmets on Thu, 2002-11-21 18:20.
Yeah, the expo actually runs for 2 days, website is www pulpexpo dot com....the Pierced boys are first up at around 3pm on the Sunday, followed by Salmonela Dub at around 4pm. There are little brocure booklets lying around the place, ie I think they have them in Whitcoulls bookstores.
It's essentially a geek's playground, but I'm sure Pierced will draw their crowd, which are kinda like the band - just slightly off kilter....just like me..ha ha
That's a nice "tribute" to the band you've got there Jay_H, liking the website! I note you've got a page for Steriogram, I'm assuming you are aware they are now hitting it bigtime in the States? Rock on I say...
saw these guys compete in the battle of the bands and they went off, it was a shame that they didnt make it through cause they wernt friends of the judges. also saw them recently in support of blindspot, 1 word, rockin.
Who the hell are pierced? It sounds like they've played a few gigs but I've never heard of them before, and I'm a local wellington boy. What style of music do they play? ( ie what bands are they similar to ? )
Submitted by UglyCasanova on Thu, 2002-11-28 14:58.
A bit Creed, quite nu-metal????? What's that all about? Have another listen, the Incubus thing i can see, it's a bit darker (less angsty more atmospheric) than nu-metal. Slightly prog-ish at times but overall hard to really place, check them out toolfan.
I'd say more Faith No More-ish without being derivative, it's quite driving with keyboards and overall a bit off centre. Only seen them twice, but they went off with Blindspott.....
Submitted by SevenHelmets on Fri, 2002-11-29 00:32.
Oh my god Eddie...what an insult! Creed? Ha ha. The boys don't sound anything like them, I should know, I've been going to a lot of their gigs recently. I think UglyCasanova comes a bit closer to describing them. Anyone see the article of them in the Hutt newspaper? They kinda summarized it when they said you don't know what they sound like until you hear it for yourself....and that was exactly me. When a couple of mates first heard them and told me about it they couldn't get across what they were actually trying to describe. Thank god they ended up basically saying I should ignore any preconceptions I may have formed from what they just told me! ha ha. I ended going to one of their gigs at Indigo, and although they didn't have one of their better gigs (ie I've seen better since...they've definately tightened up), they still impressed me. Enough to keep me coming back to their gigs, when I can.
Otherwise I would've never gone! Creed indeed.....pft....give some of us credit.
I can see the Faith No More comparisons osama (oh great, another terrorist), but personally they are less, er, odd, if I may. I was talking to this guy at the Blindspott support gig and he was saying how Jeff, the lead vocalist, reminds him of a mix between Maynard James Keanan and Chino Marino, and I tend to agree with him to a certain extent.

Ok Eddie........as the bass player in the band I'm in a pretty good position to know that your "preaching....." comment is so way off it's not funny. Therefore making your creed comments equally so, now does that settle it or what?

These guys are great live. Their music is quite definitely kick ass......
Keep up the good work.
Very dark, very interesting post-rockish songs, not too many bands playing this kind of music that i know. Has anyone got a recording?

I lurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrv these guys in a manly sort of musical fan kinda way ;-)
Orvassus, you were rambling, but is all good. These guys do indeed rock.

Saw Pierced on the weekend absolutely dug the sounds, still waiting to hear the single though. When is that due out? When is the next gig?
Next gig is Indigo on the 12th Dec (that's a Thursday night to all you students) as Loki have already mentioned on their site.
saw these guys compete in the battle of the bands and they went off, it was a shame that they didnt make it through cause they wernt friends of the judges. also saw them recently in support of blindspot, 1 word, rockin.

I think they're a bit Incubus, a bit Creed, quite Nu-Metal, basically. My opinion only...
They're good at what they do.

The Creed comparison was a "preaching the praise of god through nu-metal" comparison.
Ouch.
I've seen them a couple of times - seem like a lovely bunch of fellows. Good show, good talent, good voice.
I went to watch Salmonella dub last weekend at the michael fowler center, and I caught the last 20 or so minutes of these guys, and yeah, they're pretty good.
