NZMusic.com Radio

Forums: NZ Music,

is anyone else having trouble with the radio?????

Yesterday I did, but today it's working fine! Must've been net congestion as Teina said (see I can spell it correctly! lol) Hmm.. funny how your band FANG sounds just like LA's Face To Face, so I guess that means I like 'em!

I'm on 56k modem, come thou xtra, wee jump at beinging of each track but otherwise all good .... i take back every muttered swearword about thin pipes and the vids this well makes up for it, bigger play list soon?
god i might have to cry this is so good

should add using realplayer but is that standard???

ok what did i just do???? play list was showing the current track, now it showing last few how do i get it to change back?

realplayer is fine. anything that supports shoutcast streams is all good. Click the radio logo to get back to the main page.

hay joe you got fix for breaking face due to not being able to remove grin????

hmmm i am using a 56k on 33.6 telephone lines (how fuckin frustrating is that, stupid telecom monopolistic bullshit) and whenever i go to load up another page or do anything on the net, it has to rebuffer. my modem also seems to not want to work when it doesnt have to.... reluctantly rebuffs every little while.......

but still, a great little radio thingie

33.6 ???? what means?

can only handle speeds up to 33.6k a sec.. so my modem is wasted.... grrrrr

bugger, copper wire, funny the sales guys never tellyou stuff like that when you are up grading

sounds like you've got a noisy phone line, if you've got multiple phone jacks around your house.
To fix it and get faster modem speeds, install a second phone line and use that exclusively for internet.

yeah cheers, i thought of that - however severe lackage of funds is hampering that effort quite effectively.

thats atrocious, I commiserate with your circumstance.

its a big word week

yeah, it gets pretty frustrating while surfing, but otherwise it kicks ass.

nice work.

Seems pretty cool, tho I have jimi probs when surfing & chatting...
Great work guys!

you have me probs? gee thanks a lot!!!!!

ok, so my 'huh huh im gonna make fun of this person's slight spelling mistake and think that im really funny' strategy probably isnt making me too many friends :s

Wha?

hurrumph it ain't working for me at all, when I load the page nothing, just a nice error message, what the?

yeah same,....... 'could not connect to server'

*low growl*

it does say that it can over load, and to try again later might be all us hogs not shareing like nice kids

works a-ok now and I'm getting smooth play on 32K as well, sweet.

fuck, still not even connecting to the page for me....

if you're typing it into the browser make sure you dont have 'www' on the address.

should look like this http://radio.nzmusic.com

or just

radio.nzmusic.com

If you are already getting to the page and can see the playlists etc then it's a different problem.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

I'm at home and I've connected OK. The stats show that the number of connections available was maxed out for a while so I'll have to move shoutcast server tomorrow.

As for the buffering problem, there's not a lot that can be done. I've turned the streaming rate down to 24k which is the lowest and it still happens, but a little less often. It all depends on your connection. It worked great on 32k the other night but I suspect I had a better connection at the time.

So for people on dial-up, I suggest you lobby your ISP for cheap broadband. It's a NZ based stream so it should be cheap for them too.

goddam! she streams into the garden on the airport! in 128 too.

I would have dsl or telstrasaturn cable but i live in the wopwops :(

Dialup isn't great for streams, but i seem to get a great connection with triple j.

scr - so hows it running for you on the current connection?

rebuffers every 4-5 minutes, otherwise fine.

Out here in the "wop wops" of Cali USA (just outside the DSL zone) we can't and probably won't ever get DSL (not enough residents to make it feasible), but dispite the buffer, it sounds great!

awwww... wicked... luv, luv ....much luv to the nzmusic team

happy me

yep, works good for me -- both streams, clear and uninterrupted. still got that cinematic on the playlist?

mate! damm good call! send it thru :especially that classy single i always forget the name of... ;D

i shall...
what's the preferred format?
realaudio files (.rm) @ 32 and 128? stereo? configured for music? that sorta thing?

mp3's at 192k would be the best quality. just email them to info@nzmusic.com

ahhh - hello like a goodbye?

// ahhh - hello like a goodbye?

you're onto it. the wellington fave.

now, if i can only track down a copy of the CD. you'd think you'd own copies of CDs you'd actually played on, but no...

any chance of uping the Broadband rate a little, sounding good at the moment though a little crusty.
Is it a stereo stream? could be the prob

The 128k one is stereo.

hi, loving the radio to bits, but you know how I am a lazy old bag who loves links and needs nzm to tie my shoe laces.... to help me in exploration of newer new zealand music it would be cool to have under the name of track in the now playing box a link to the artists page so I could read up on them as I heard something that peeked my interest.... there seems to be no link from radio.nzmusic.com to this site at all, or can you get to the radio only from this site in the first place?

What a great idea! I hope they do it!

read joes reply below i think it was always there but arrow only turns to finger when there is an artists page to link to

Well, if you're curious, roll your mouse over the track listing on the radio page. Some artists and tracks have links back to the appropriate pages on nzm.

can we request songs? it sounds pretty good. its awesome how it only play nz music.

Chat anyone?
Chat > Channel: Shoutcast > (connect, then type; /join #NZMusic ). Will be there for ten minutes only.
