That's the way search engines (and forums) work by default. Depends on who you are as to whether it bothers you or not. There's no way that the search engine has access to anything that isn't already publically available on this site. Remember, you are publishing to the web when you use a site like this to post a page or comment. A search engine collates all pages published to the web. The search engines see what anyone who comes to this site can see - it's a public media space.

We can't block search engines for some people and not for others.

Megaccino - I searched on my name and now I think I have to withdraw my nomination of you as coolest female poster, because thanks to your idea, I found a new singer who's work I just have to buy, she's described as better than Ani di Franco and goes by the name of Myshkin - don't need the expense!

Didn't find many references to me at all actually, though many to my archetype or whatever you call the person who inspired the use of my name - but it doesn't worry me that my postings are here - I've been psoting thousands of messages to usenet without taking much care to prevent searchers finding me. The only thing is to be careful about providing pointers for people to find you.
