Forums: The Bar,

"Alison" Elvis Costello

it's sort of like a stacking game... add as many "A" names as you like but you can't start "C" until there is a "B"

Classic.

doh! DVSgal beat me to it. Damn these letters that have split into two entries...

"The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down" Every single country singer, ever

The Band did it
didn't know dixie was a girl

"I'm A Loner Dottie, A Rebel" The Get Up Kids

"The Band did it
didn't know dixie was a girl"

OMG YOU'RE RIGHT.
However, a number of well-known country singers covered this particular song, including (but not limited to) Johnny Cash, John Denver, and quite possibly Dolly Parton.
So it seems that you have completely missed my (albeit weak) joke.

Also, I find it entirely conceivable that someone would name their daughter "Dixie". It sounds like a girls name, anyway. And considering the vein of this thread, I feel that is all that matters.

"Elizabeth My Dear" Stone Roses

"A Rose For Emily" The Zombies

"Ellen and Ben" - The Dismemberment Plan

"Come On Eileen" - Dexy's Midnight Runner

"Cold Ethyl" alice cooper
