Yay, I have my ticket to go see TOOL. In Christchurch they're getting local support... (so this is kinda relevant) Anyone have any ideas on who? Are Auckland & Wellington getting L.S. too?
wellington 19th for us.
there was considering going to christchurch since i'll be down south in the early weeks of april. (nelson tho'). but have decided to not risk it and will dash home madly to join the troops of flatmates & neighbours.
//all "enigma"
that's what gave carmen san diego such legendary appeal.
and that jacket with matching gloves and hat.
nice page too... carmen is looking hot.
Fuck i am extremely upset about this whole tool thing.
The melvins and tool are like two of my favourite bands and i miss all the dates around the country by a matter of days.
How fucking stupid is that.
argh i am sure they will be back
i wouldn't count on that megaccino...
in fact the fear is, repercussions of tool coming back down second year running is not seeing them for a long time afterwards... that is the fear anyway. and it has no substance. i hope.
I'll be @ Willington to see them - wanted to go last time but something came up. Has anyone seen their interview in Real Groove this month? I was initially quite impressed with their anti-marketing/anti-corporate stance - saying they don't like doing interviews which are really marketing tools at the behest of their record companies to sell more product. But I've slept on it, and it seems to me that while they may well believe their stance, it actually works as a marketing device in its own right: those who share the beliefs will be more inspired to go to their gigs etc.
+ the rarity of these interviews enhances the perceived mysticism of tool. it intrigues people, making them eager for anything that can offer them a look into the mysterious band.
just like taking ages to bring another album out - tool fans were in a frenzy waiting for lateralus.
Yeah, gotta admit, the fact that they're so moody & random is appealing to me. I find it sooo funny that Maynard got annoyed?/bored? so he went & played his gameboy mid concert. hehehehehehehe
Apparently Most Wanted has been playing a Tool video every night, 'cos of a competition on tool. So if you wanna see cool Tool vids, watch Most Wanted... Yuck, I hate that show, but you can always mute the Alien Ant Farm & Ja Rule vids *shudder*
I watched it 2nite & they played Schism, but only half of it!! 'cos it is too long I guess, but I was pretty pissed off.
Bastards....
I have Schism on the computer to watch... But I can't have Sober 'cos 'they' made me delete Kazaa 'cos of virus dangers... Anyone know any good programs/site for music videos for WMP?
yeah, used 2 have that but found not enough ppl had enough good vids. + huge sizes & its impossible 2 find ppl 2 resume with, i deleted it when i discovered audio galaxy, cos i mostly only d/l mp3s
i like AG cos it automatically resumes... so when my family r online it'll d/l without them knowing.. muhuhahahah, it's not as if they'd bother setting up stuff on napster or winmx 4 me. :(
pour moi, AG for songs, kazaa for movies (which i very rarely d/l, not having the internet speed to make it really worthwhile).
also megaccino, i tried to find an article i read just after the warnings about security breaches and viruses on kazaa came out, but i couldnt find it.
basically it was a piece on a respected net tech site, about how pathetic it was for people to be spreading these rumours and then press outlets quoting it to 'experts' who are never properly named. the point was made that you would never rely on nameless, faceless experts who told you this software was safe, so why should you trust them that it isn't safe?
ive never been infected, still, maybe im not cautious enough... but there seems to be skepticism in the techie world about whether these 'facts' are proven.
Yeah, I DID have a virus, apparently from KaZaA. It made my internet homepage pedophile porn everytime I restarted the comp. Luckily, there was a http not found something a-rather message...soooo glad it wasn't an actual site.. just a dodgy url.
+ it has spy ware type stuff & my fear is Big Brother (not the TV show, the fact that the government/media/?? is constantly watching us) but most file sharing stuff has spy ware I guess... anyway, good news, I got rid of virus & deleted KaZaA but now I can't get Sober :(
Thankz man...found lotsa stuff on my comp, including OnFlow, ohhhh, the thing from AG. Well, now I am a lot happier, as I said, I am freaked out by Big Brother & now there is a lot less things watching me... Not that I think I'm completely safe.. *shifty eyes*
Whoooohoooo, only a few hours to go... I can't wait, still dunno about local support..
If I'm not too tired I'll post a review here tonight, if not tomorrow evening. So check back ;)
IT WAS SOOOOOOOO AWESOME! Nothing will ever ever beat that concert... no local support. The Melvins were ok, nice metal band.
But TOOL are sooooo cool & I was right up at the front, not centre, but right side of stage. Adam was blocking my view of Maynard, who was on opposite side from me & @ back, but I could see Justin & Danny ok. Adam had his back to me also for a lot.
OMG, I don't wanna give away the special thing... Ppl going to Welly & Auck, the coolest thing happens.... You'll prob know what I mean when you see, no-one say anything til Sunday, don't spoil surprise :) It is really strange, you'll be amazed.
Lowlights were not enough songs from Ænima being played... Only Stinkfist if I remember rightly, my faves are Eulogy & Jimmy & Hooker With A Penis & Disgustipated & Ænema but they weren't played :(
Lateralus songs were really great. Crowd went wild in Lateralis.
Ummmm... Maynard was wearing wig & gas mask kinda thing @ start but he took it off eventually & had half of face painted black. Took off shirt, but not pants like last year. He also said he'd be back.. yay!
I can't think of anything else to say right now. Ears... ringing...

Cheers Megaccino - I'm about to head off and see 'em in Wellington. Bit of a shame about the gas mask thing, as it seems too many bands are doing that these days.
Auckland is sold out, except for the most expensive area, btw for anyone who is thinking of going.
Lol, i wish i found this forum earlier.
I heard that NZ is the largest consumer of tool per person in the world.
