"Angel Of The Morning" is one of those songs that's been recorded so many times by so many people -- Chip, Merilee, Juice Newton, The Tremeloes, the Pretenders, Nina Simone, Olivia, Bonnie Tyler, Liz Harmon, E.G. Daily. P.P. Arnold, and tons of lesser-known folks, and bloody Shaggy, not to mention the gazillion instrumental versions -- that I almost can't stand to hear it at all now.
It was even in BMI's "Top 50 Most Performed Songs" songbook, which is no longer in print, undoubtedly because someone who was sick to death of perpetually having to listen to these same frickin' songs over and over threatened to throttle everyone at the publishing company if they didn't stop subjecting the world's population to this stuff immediately.
Chip Taylor (the 'Chip' mentioned above), is the guy who actually wrote it, and Merilee Rush was the person who first had a top-40 hit with it (in 1968).

Pardon me. I was embarrassed enough to even know it was Juice Newton.
Had no idea it was covered so many times. Interesting. Shaggy's version, in my opinion, is just atrocious though.
