Hmmmm, music is seriously the one thing.... but maybe... rock climbing, talking 2 friends (internet, phone or in person) and reading... any book, so specific genre
i also dig the science fiction... i've since decided a book is worth just as much as a cd sitting in the collection.
scary thoughts, but i also wake up in the morning, and actually look forward to going to work... though sometimes it involves music as well, so include that only half the time.
i'm likened to a bit of orson scott cards new books in the enders game series... i have just literally dragged myself from the red prophet (alvin maker series), this very sec to check up on ye guys. he's not an immaculate writer, but it's all damn easy to read. right now i'm real hooked on the native american indian stuff in the series... fantastic. it's a little detached from s.f. but all respect none the less.
am hunting for dune at the mo'. and more isaac azimov... just all the known gears for starters. may as well keep peeled for some r.r martin too.
who knows. i value sleep as it is, bookworming is all i need... (if a reads that good, you can't just go interupt with a snooze!?) arrrgh, i'm harping on again.
sorry to post again rereading dune books at the moment .... the whole shihad thing... laught every time i think about org. name coming from watching movie with sting in and miss hearing
mm not going to // comments
sweet tea leaf the movie was not too bad ....I always find it hard to watch other peoples images of my own imaginings ....peter Jackson could be the exception ( but for that bloody rock troll)

sand worms... spice makers.... frank Herbert..... or have I missed your wit?
//read wyrms?
oh. no you haven't missed my wit. more like picking up on my stupid. telling the truth i hadn't even heard of it. though now that you've mentioned it i remember seeing it somewhere. so if wit was there, i lied cause i don't have it close at hand.
nah more than that it goes Dune Messiah (the short one that drags on), Children of Dune, God Emperor of Dune, Heretics of Dune and Chapterhouse Dune.
Of course I couldn't remember so had to check:
there are lots of houses but only two main ones, Atredies and Harkonnen (maybe three if you count the Imperial House), unlike the computer game where they made up the smuggler house.
The books mainly focus around House Atredies but it doesn't really stick to a viewpoint, it does all viewpoints if you know what I mean.
rad, i loved that game when i had it a few years ago.... hated ordos the smuggler house, lucky they're not in the book; it'll make me more likely to read them.
I was going to go to Incubus but a bit tight on the cash front, plus I have a friend's thing to go to, got my Tool ticket though.
You gonna go to Tool? Catch ya then maybe.
damn aye, im gonna wear my nzmusic.com tshirt and everything ;) i'll be round town anyway this afternoon, watch for that tshirt.
hmmm may go to tool - i love them but i'm a relatively new convert, i dunno, 70 bucks seems so much more than 60 for some reason.... plus im only getting to welly on dad's air points and i cant imagine him helping me again. i may go to chch instead.
ah well, i might do a review of tonight's support act if i get the time, so you know what ya missed.
- Gunter Grass novels
- Isaac Bashevis Singer novels/short stories
- James K. Baxter poetry
- William Carlos Williams poetry
- Independent film
- Foreign film
- Dutch licorice
- Irish Coffee
- Women :)
On films, I loved the short NZ films shown on 4 in the last few years.. (Shortcuts?) They were all so cool, Independent & Short films are ALL better than over produced hollywood trash made to please the masses.
The other day I watched the short film 'Lounge Bar' (1988). Harry Sinclair and Mutton birder Don McGlashan founded 'Front Lawn' who produced a few short films. 'Lounge Bar' was great! Black comedy in its element. The next piece of 'Front Lawn' handy work on my hitlist is 'Walk Short' (1987)
On the subject of NZ films - Sunday night at around 11pm (i know its late) is a really good NZ film called 'The Ugly' I reccomend anyone who can stay up to watch it. Its a little strange and maybe a little disturbing, but it's definatly worth a look.
Also a little bit of extra info. Anyone who saw last years cleo bachelor of the year might remember one of the finalists Sam Wallace - long poodle like hair? Played basketball? Well anyway, you might notice hes the young version of the main character. Its an oldish movie.
i tryed to find a way to ask the question that would fit in the box
.... what do you get off on
.....what are you into
.....what gives you pleasure
.....what do you do for fun
ALL SOUNDED DODGY so went with a line from covers band that played at my school once... keeping it musical lol
All that X-air and X-treme sports kinda 'rox my sox' Its madness!
I guess I'm a bit of a History nerd, yes I read History for fun - some of the things we've done in the past are also complete madness!
definaitly art - painting, drawing, sculpting, sketching, printing, collaging, photography....you name it, i love it.....
and definaitly performing - acting especially, in over the top parts in productions where i can go nuts! this year im playing a posh mother who is always off her face...goodie....its gonna be so much fun...i cant wait till i can venture out and explore the world of thearte over new zealand......*sigh* i hate being 17.....so close but so damn far away....
I really dig making stuff like furniture, clothes, and crafts. Ooh I love horror movies too, and Mr Men books - anyone remember the series that used to be on the tele? Prisons totally fascinate me as well, pick a path books, Murder mysteries - Daamn that Nancy Drew! Danger Mouse, Inspector Gadget (the cartoon NOT the movie), Oh yeah I've always had an interest in reading books about serial killers - not cause I am a budding one or have ambitions to be one, but the mind of those people are fucking amazing.
i'm working on receiveing my noble peace prize.
i've written a draft for self-inducing the photosynthesis process. and a blueprint for a geographically controlled environment. with plans put in place we should be running by 2020, and looking forward to a clean environment by 2050. by then all those co2 gases can look forward to being carbonized into a new life as plastic.
with the gases liquids and solids avaliable in the form of 115 table elements, blended into a myriad of combinations. it couldn't be easier.
i'm going to be stupidly rich.
