She does a 4-line rap which starts with "Universal is the (label) that pays me" and ends with "Brotha D make the crowd go crazy!" and then Brotha D does some rapping. He's wearing sunglasses in a dark cave. He says "Getcha groove on!" which I thought was a Fred Durst line. So Brotha D recycles Durst's lyrics?
Other than that, 'Thank You' by Stereobus was horrible & ugly. And of course 'Bruce'.

Perhaps that was the intentsion of the "Nothing New" video. With all it's special effects (the snow looks computer generated), the band appear tired and distant, as if they have "... given you everything (but you want more)".
Even with all the latest effects and styling, it looks remarkably similar to other videos (Youthful - Anika Moa, Kiss Me - Six Pence None The Richer), futher emphasising "Nothing new...".
Moreover, the song echos this sentiment as the lyrics repeat over and over...

Number one rule of female pop singer videos - do not surround yourself with all female dancers. It's got to be all male or mixed otherwise the singer just blends in with all the other girls. This is is why "1+1+1" doesn't work. In "Can You Feel Me", who is that blonde chick driving the jeep and why does she seem to be the focal point rather than K'Lee. Can K'Lee not drive?
Betchadupa - "Man On My Left"
Apart from looking like someone's school media studies project (maybe it was?), the subtitles comedy playing out is maybe funny the first time but just annoying with every subsequent view.

A lot of people like this video, but I don't because I don't think that there's anything particularly clever about doing a "Clockwork Orange" ripoff/homage. Faith No More based their video for "Last Cup of Sorrow" on Hitchcock's "Vertigo", but they subverted it, made it interesting. Shihad just did a short, inferior remake.
Ok, that's enough. I'm willing to put up with a crap video if it's something the band's done on their own, but even some self-funded videos are good. But when a band has got NZonAir funding and produces a shit video, that makes me angry. Angry!
