Once Again - where are the music fans?

Have the rubbish posts really put everyone off? Where is the badarse Mike Hunt? WHERE IS TOMBLE! Noones giving away the good stuff anymore.

Forums: NZ Music,

Obviously this site is causing you too much stress nibbles, have a little break and return when you are a bit happier.....

nah no stress here (sorry posted wrong place). i'm trying to fight fire with fire, but once the smoke clears i'll be nicer and calmer. just trying to help a great community, from way out on a limb...

nah no stress here. just making a point.

I notice you haven't been posting much if anything in forums about bands etc. Hypocrite.

it will come - when i stop being hassled by peopl like you who think it's your place to make it ugly for a music fan to comment on a site like this. who gave you the right to put me off - who do you think you are? are you the forumnazi?

Awww, poor wee pussy, too scared to voice his opinion 'cos some one might mock it. Good thing the majority of people aren't like this or there'd be no posts!

*megaccino changes her name bitchoccino*

Megaccino, i beleive that sort of comment is why your opinion is completely worthless here for me. i'd like to think you have better to offer us.

Sorry, that was uncalled for. I know I'm a cynical, neagative bitch & I'm gonna stay outta these for a while. & look, I'm already posting more positive comments on bands!! Aren't you guys proud of me?
Nibbles, I do apologise to you, but I still think it's fun to have some non-music forums to relax in & you shouldn't really say we can't.

ummm...

in this place people make you feel bad for liking a band.

i'm speaking from experience on that one.

maybe nibbles - they've realised that this place IS truely horrible, and totally focussed on whos better than who.

http://www.canvas.net.nz ]

//in this place people make you feel bad for liking a band.

My gawd could that comment be anymore lame? If you like a band then you like them, so what if someone 'shakes your tree' and maybe on occasions takes to it with a chain saw... Toughen up or go back to hiding behind your mothers apron.

jenni - i semi agree. there are a bunch of people that are here to make you feel bad for expressing your opinion about a band. i think it's minority group that are getting away with murder (!). they need to be slapped back in the face for their blatant destructive abuse. yet no one does.

it's these peopl that make it horrible as you said, but I've read enough to know that this site is about celebrating the good stuff. i can't agree that it's about who's better than who - thats giving to much cred to the stupid members. they just need a wake up call - that there ARE poeple that can't stand their stupidity and immaturity and molly coddling at times.

maybe things shouldn't bee taken over-seriously, but i'm a serious music fan, and frankly some of the comments made here towards people are downright abusive. case inpoint : funkymonkey's response to this very post - just simply stupid and needs to be held accountable by us all. have some respect fool. blatant disrespect for an opinion that is RELEVANT TO THIS FORUM.

celebrate the artists, their efforts, the bands and the fans that help. not the dumbarses that we have to put up with here from time to time. the real problem is the good people don't want to speak up. lurkers like me.

there seems to be people among us who resort to character assassination when they got nothing constructive say about the subject *yawn* i'm learning to skip over them to the posts with CONTENT .. and it's been thin on the ground for ages

i've learnt to skip all posts by certain members almost unconsciously in recent times. it's sad but maybe to be expected.

nibbles i'm agreeing with ya, but there's a couple of holes in your argument.
you're saying you hate molly coddling, but asking us to 'celebrate the artists, their efforts, the bands and the fans that help'. i think (hope) all members here appreciate what we have - a kickass site for talking about kickass music.

BUT there's always gonna be room for negativity.... i'm not gonna ''celebrate the artists" when i think they are utter crap - this would be molly coddling. negativity makes people strive for better, let's not forget. get rid of this character assassination we have going on, sure, but leave people room to have their say about why they hate a certain group or whatever.

jimi: yes thers lots of holes in my comments. i'd be suprised if there is not a LOT of contradictions. i think i'm more trying to make change by saying stuff that I KNOW/HOPE other people feel, but won't say. i don't want to undermine comments made but my things are definitely eratic but heartfelt.
and P.S I know I'm breaking my topic criteria, but my hope is one or two topics will prevent hundreds of crap ones so we can all make intersting CONTENT (as ed said).

fucksake funkymonkey - have you ever heard of a little thing called 'nana's venting room'?.

//Toughen up or go back to hiding behind your mothers apron. - you make it sound like i DONT like defending myself....*hmmm*....do you think i would even be writing this friggin post if i wasnt tough? - coz of course, youre gonna 'blow me down' again with some utimatly cunning response.....am i correct? - stand back and be prepared to be 'wowed' everyone.....

:oP

Read your comment Jenni, then read it again, then again... comprenda?
I am just saying that 'you like what you like' and thats ok, a little thing called 'preferences' that we all all entitled to, just like 'personal opinions'. Surely your opinions are not that fragile that they will crumble to the extent that your feelings will get hurt by a bunch of people who don't share your taste for certain bands? So in that light, no one can 'make you' feel bad about something you like, unless its something you intrinsically know is wrong.

funkymonkey could you possibly stop being such a chronic bitch for just 5 minutes? i think the point jenni is getting at, is that unless your favorite bands are compatible with the tastes of certain members here, your likely to get a slagging. theres room here for rubicon fans pitchblack fans, sommerset fans and k'lee fans. if kids want to gush about bands in their forum then good on them, that's what those forums are there for. Why do you people find members with different tastes to yours so threatening? and then you whinge on and on about bigots and racists. oh the irony.

5)There can be (and usually is) a major difference between what you 'think' and the reality of a situation.

I think your version of 'reality' is shit, sorry

Can you take your head out of your rectum long enough to wrap your widdle head around what I am about to say pup? I agree that it is stink that certain people mock other peoples musical preferences, the internet allows that 'faceless' kind of shite slinging. What I am saying is 'does the opinion of someone you don't know, really count?' Is it going to affect you that much that you 'feel bad'? The Rubicon forum has had many drive-by postings, but the fans are still posting hard regardless of how many trolls lurk in the shadows waiting to pounce.

Perhaps thats the reason you get so strung out about certain issues online DVSgal, denial of internet human behaviour.

If you say so Dr Funkymunky , since your obviously qualified to give a definition on the reality of all human behaviour.
Although I dont think its unrealistic to expect respect from ppl, and I dont think its unrealistic for ppl to show respect either.

good call DVSgal. although my response would be "get off your condescending pop psych pedestal, prick"... 999natas999 - your call buddy.

again, fuck off with your wankery.

If Jenni says it makes her feel bad, then it does matter and it does effect her, It's natural to feel shitty when someone knocks something you care about (if its done in a shitty way) I think there are heaps of ppl on this sight who talk about 'individuality' and not 'following the herd' but when someone isn't following YOUR herd, you make a point of making them feel crap.

Actually I prefer Dr Evil... I agree with the age old Primary school golden rule 'Treat others the way you wish to be treated yourself',however unfortunately with some people that idea gets lost between the brain and the keyboard... And thats the essence of what I'm saying.

//"get off your condescending pop psych pedestal, prick"

I think we have a new contender for the title of 'NZMusic.com drama queen' ;^)

again, fuck off with your wankery.

Oh for fuck sake.... what a bunch of whining little pussies.

Jesus!!!! Get a grip, harden up and get over it!!!!

If you can't handle a few nasty words on a computer screen then your life is going to be really difficult.

Bunch of PUSSIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

reeeeooooooooooooooooooow!.

put ure handbags away girls........

//If you can't handle a few nasty words on a computer screen then your life is going to be really difficult.

Totally agree...*hides anvil in handbag* If anything I have found nibbles display of bravado somewhat amusing :^)

OHHH!...i am LOVING you right now DVSgal - you said exactly what i was TRYING to put across....my comment just came across as wussy and pathetic he he he....so thanks!!!

http://www.canvas.net.nz ]

I would like to think that I am perenial realist. I see the reality of this situation is trying to change someone else is like pulling out your own fingernails... painful (for you), pointless and damned ugly...You can't change someone else, let alone a 'herd'. Yes it may make you 'feel bad' when they diss something or someone you care about, but honestly... what are the chances of a total stranger, tapping away at a keyboard with agendas unknown to yourself, who has no idea who you are, giving a damn about how you feel? So instead of sprouting a grey hair everytime someone posts something online that may make you 'feel bad', how about trying to change the way in which you 'choose' to react to it... "How bout no longer being masochistic"

And..........we're done.

//how bout trying to change the way you react

Like you said above, trying to change someone is pointless, I dont think that stating that some ppl's comments make her feel bad, is 'sprouting a grey hair' or overreacting.
I think its a shitty thing that ppl dont give a rats about other ppl feelings, I think its rats that ppl judge others by the music they listen to. I'm glad that the ppl I choose to surround myself with arn't that shallow.

Just to prevent any misconceptions, "overreacting" is a term you used DVSgal not me.

Internet reality checklist:
1)Shite slings to be used at own discretion
2)There can be (and usually is) a major difference between who you are talking to online and who you 'think' you are talking to online.
3)Never expect someone to extend the same courtesies to you online as you would them.
4)The only boundary is YOUR conscience.

and I think thats shit.

thank yoo jamerj for this. really rare these days.
to all: make sure you post knowing that there will be opposing forces. respect the community, and respect expression.

i still think it must be relevant. there are other atoms.

i haven't called any1 bad names for yonks, so i better start sumthing up. i know heaps of people & they mock me for like luving shihad 24/7, why is it that we get dissed for being a really LOYAL fan???? i got told i was hardcore for knowing gerald d was the manager for shihad.
ohh yeah, im sorry bout this but why is it that there are too many bands who have a handful of songs eg weta (in my opinion) like i like a few of their songs but i won't listen to the rest of them

ok im stating an opinion, lets not turn this into a personal vandetta, between me & all those weta fans out there, lets discuss the topic & not the posters k?

sorry bout that its a lil disjointed :( why is it that songs of less quality are put on cds to fill in space? when i saw blindspott in welly they didn't sound like they do on the noise box, why do they have to edit round with the voices and insruments, cause it makes them sound different live, which i think is kinda stupid

ok nibbles, i see what your talking about...this forum makes a little more sense than the other one....
when you say, 'why cant we all just post about the artists' or whatever, theres only so much you can say about the artists before it starts to lose interest. Also, any one feel free to prove me wrong here, but i have it in my head that the human race loves conflict...they love to debate things, try to make everyone else see they're right...i myself am guilty of this, so even if we were to have artists only forums, the conversation would turn negative, the evidence for that is in the artists forums we have already....how many different arguments have we had in the k'lee forum? or rubicon? or jacob? everyones gonna have different opinion and tastes so it will always turn sour.....not that im a negative person, but it always seems that way dont it?
and just look at the girls in the artists forums who do only support their "fav" band (ie rubicon), now they get slack for being teenyboppers who have nothing else to talk about....its a lose/lose situation and thats all due to the nature of man.....and there are good bits in there....the thing that i have learnt from my trolly days (sometimes they come back to me alittle!!), is that you gotta take everything in here with a pinch of salt, and a hell of a lot of sarcasim....try and see the good points, and if you cant find any..... go to the rubicon forum and abuse paul reid ;) KIDDING KIDDING!!

Support New Zealand music, yes, by all means...
But once you get as pathetic as those Rubicon worshippers, you should probably be shot!!
"ohh, I wanna marry Paul & Taylor & the poodle-hair guy from Nsync"
Some people drive me crazy.....

>>& the poodle-hair guy from Nsync"
ha fukkin ha... i gotta admit that's pretty fucking funny.

Hehe, thanks... I found out his name... It's Justin Timberlake, what a name! & He is Britney Spear's boyfriend (Fiance??) Does anyone have any objections to me dissing them?? I'm assuming (& hoping) no...
If they get married she'd be Britney Timberlake. That just sounds funny

Megaccino trying to find things to do when bored, you have some any idea where to find others ?

Where to find other whats?

gosh just had a wee think what that post may have sounded like, it is a serious question, hopefully Megaccino understands what I'm on about, and doesn't think I'm trying to say she"s boreing

U talking about Propaganda?

yes this type of conversation will be so much eaiser when they open the chats
