Hi from the UK! I'm an ex-pat kiwi DJ. I've worked the London clubs for 10 years. I came to see the DNE vid, after reading the comment above. I also checked out Bongmaster..very funky!! However u can't compare one to the other. The DNE track is a good quality well produced track and Bongmaster is a bunch of guys videoed in a club havn fun doin dub. The produced track wins hands down and I really hope they bring it out on vinyl. It all reminds me why I left, I see things havnt changed over there and the kiwi knocking machine is still in full swing!! Lucky for you DNE...there is the internet, the rest of the world doesnt revolve around what is good kiwi music and what is not. Or should I say who your connected with and who your not.

I like Salmonella Dub and If anyone from Nelson Lands cares to remember Decay Dance- they were extra fun, I have also taken a liking to DNE but i won't get into that because it caused arguements and whooooooaaa be there but don't go there if you know what i mean.
also i think that Balance are/were good, but see i'm a bit behind and don't know if they still exist.

I have been told that Tadpole and Zed are really good performers, but i dont think they measure up to the same standard as Shihad, Weta and Fur Patrol. Ive gotta hand it to them though coz they are still pretty good and doing well, but not really my tastes (tad on the teeny-bopper side).
Ive heard of a band Pluto and apparently they are facken awesome, Babes too. Great to have more talent come out of NZ!
Salmonella Dub have matured as a unit since they released their first album back in 1994. 5 studio releases later and ahandful of ep's they are deservedly at the forefront of who to see when playing live in NZ. Forget the Shihad experience, these 5 guys have stayed loyal to the provinces and regularly play places like Kaikoura, Buller, and Timaru through out the course of a year. With acts coming through like Shapeshifter, Dub Asylum and Trinity Roots they will not be aloud to lower there game if they want to remain at the top of the rapidly growing dub scene in kiwi country. Keep it real and true.
The best damn band from NZ would have to be the almighty Shihad with there awesome fucken show with Weta who were good but Shihad were better in Wellington the home of the Had.
The Datsuns are by far the besssst band in Nz and are going to be the bigest thing to come out of NZ since David Longie

Having listened to a wide array of Kiwi music, I can say without a doubt that Breaks Co-op far exceeds they quality of others. Unfortunately for us the group (Hamish and Zane) only produced a single album- Roofers. If you give it a spin I'm sure you'll come to agree.
