I hope this doesn't come across as disrecpectful or anything, but is Max Merrit really a rock legend?

I mean, I know my Mum mentioned something about dancing to his band back in the 60s, but "rock legend"?

Well, there you go, then;
Well, there you go, then; legend he is. What's the story behind the Max Merrit legend? I know he had a couple of hits in the 60s...
Still, anyone who gets inducted into the "NZ Rock and Rock Hall of Fame" has to be fairly legendary. No ambiguity about what genre of musician they favour, eh? Mind you, seeing as none of
gets any reliable hits on Google (all eight combinations turned up a total of five - count 'em five - hits, all of which linked to stories about Max Merrit's unfortunate illness and none of which linked to any site for a hall of fame), you could conclude that the HoF itself is prety mythical.

Here y'go... The ROCKONZ Hall Of Fame. Looks like Max Merritt is world famous in Christchurch.

One of the biggest selling
One of the biggest selling acts in the sixties....huge in Australia, Slipping Away was a worldwide hit...he's about as legendary as it gets in NZ Rock'n'Roll
Put his name in Google and you get 23,000 hits!
He's one of the big names of
He's one of the big names of NZ music, that's for sure. I'm just being anal about the Herald's use of the word "legend". Don't you have to have some kind of incredible story, spread and passed down over time, to be a legend? If MM has, then all well and groovy.
Still, all this talk of legend has made me giggle. I'm reminded of Eddie in Bottom, who greases up to Richie by calling one of his plans "legendary, fiendish!" It's not funny written down, of course, but the way he said it was hilarious. Any programme that features characters called Richard Richard and Edward Elizabeth Hitler is cool by me.
have you seen "the Dangerous
have you seen "the Dangerous Brothers"
I think I cried watching that
