Alright, to kick things off, I'm on the hunt for a band van for about $1500-$3000. Preferably a bedford with appropriate shaggin' wagon or pimp mobile styles. But anything considered as long as it's longwheelbase, under 200000kms and in good enough condition to get around the island a few trimes. prefer backseats and diesel too. think more along the lines of a Hi Ace or something. Crap but cheap to run and reliable. Anyway, you'd probably be better off justing renting if you wanna tour the country a bit...ain't enough venues to make it worthwhile really....

well, you can get a good van for about $85 a day if you look about..just include it in your costs. No warrant/reg hassles, no maintenance/insurance.
and 15 -20 dates? around NZ? man..thats just asking to lose money. You can pull it off well enough doing weekends & stuff (no point playing anywhere unless its Thurs/Fri/Sat) and come out on top.
I don't know, thats just the conclusion I've come up with, thought alot about buying a van then discarded the idea. Mind you, wouldn't complain if I got given one..so....anyone?

I can tell you all from experience that bedfords are the cheap to keep on the road. And to be honest you'll fit more gear in a hi-ace van. But anyway we love our bedford, thought you might want to take a look at our sweet as Beddy. Buy the way the engine alone is worth $4500, diesel mind you.
