How is Chris coping?
It really is no laughing matter the specter of relegation.
Hammers v Wigan this weekend.... Major game.
Fulham have the Arse, and a caning is on the cards for Fayed.
He's hopeful... and well Charlton are doing better in this half of the season now that they've settled in with the new coach. I think he's remaining optimistic.
the remaining games are against Blackburn (tonight) and Tottenham then Liverpool... they might have a chance, but its probably more reliant on the other teams results than Charltons.
well this weekend is a complete disaster.
Arsenal can salvage something for you by humping Fulham
but it's now a real dog fight
I think last weekend is going to be a marathon of relegation drama.
fuck, i posted in the wrong place.
now i'm stuck with a post in the wrong place
which is better than the previous site setup
where i was stuck with a post in the wrong place that i couldn't change
Personally I'm glad they weren't docked, but I still want 'em to go down, the jammy head-messing bastards. Mind you, they've beaten Man U at Old Trafford before, so I'm not holding my breath. Also, all they have to do is draw (or cross their fingers for Wigan to lose).
Well , it may be a poor time to review the hierarchary of the team.
one whould assume such problems were ironed out year to two out from the major World tournament.
There is also a good chance it's all grist in the mill... Australia, and most likely India and Pakistan are actually way ahead of us.
ie: we don't have Buckleys anyway.
still.... England won last night and fair from it for me to be FAIRWEATHRED but one day cricket is a sport where "wild fluctuations" can change outcomes quickly.
I guess the Good players just do it more often.
Australia have more palyers capable of this and have more who give it the regular dose.
I want to talk about how one player ie Craig Bellamy can make oodles of £ while being a complete plonker? Why do clubs want this player when he has a history of off field dramas, hasn't won any medals, and is not a consistent scorer for any of the clubs he has played for?
Another example of the Premiership (and other European leagues for that matter) being too enamoured with the all mighty dollar/euro/pound. The sooner Platini instills a salary cap the better. I'm tired of seeing overhyped average players earn mega dollars for doing sod all. There are probably only a handful of players that I would actually say earn their money and have my respect. The rest can go jump. As for Charlton and West Ham, well it looks like the East End of London might be a bit barren in terms of Premiership teams come end of the season. Charlton have had a pretty good run in the league considering their size and resources. Hope they don't turn into a Leeds Utd ie get relegated to Div 2 status.
Craig has always had a problem with Players he considers are not up to his level.
Gordon Strachen had a nice way of putting this.
Is Bellemy in fact insane? $100000 a week wages... shit you would go nuts.
why should football players have a cap on their earnings? how about Bankers, Bruce Forthsythe impersonators and Car Wreckers? I think I know what you mean... in fact I've bemoaned the Premiership's wage problems on these very boards but change needs to be inclusive of other parts of society. Let's face it who can complain about what Therry Henry earns compared to say , Paul Wolfowitz?
I hope Platini dumps the Champions League.
256 H&A knock-out comp. like the good old days. No seeding, only 1st round is nation exempt.
hey they both played for Newcastle.
Souness for mastermind.
Newcastle made a great signing this year though... Obafemi Martins... action -packed, excitment machine, superstar in the making, pace, power, smiles why he does triple back-flip.
I can excuse for humping the Arse at Highbury one year for Internationalnazi , he's just a joy to watch playing football.
If you don't watch Football make an effort to see this guy... he's great entertainment.
hopefully Guy Ritchie, John Pilger and David Yallop team up to do an expose on the dodgyas shennanniganns surronding the ownership and business dealings of West Ham United Football Club.
I think I understand why you no longer care, it sure must be a difficult time.
Fraid to say its all over for the Hammers, I think the writing was on the wall when they signed the two Argies. They must have been thinking to themselves "hmm hope I get to go somewhere sunny like Barcelona or South of France" but no - they end up on the Central Line tube heading towards Bethnal Green with flak jacket and flick knife in hand......
We will reach the knockout stages of the WC but will proceed no further. We will lose to England but win the other matches (vs Kenya and some other team) but in all likelihood lose to whoever we face in hte next stage.
Fleming needs to pull his head in, he put way too much pressure on the middle order to bash their way to victory on Tuesday by batting too slowly (106 off 148 balls is test match stuff).
NZ is not consistent enough in all facets of the game to scare teams, other teams will go into their matches confident that even NZ batted or bowled well, the reverse will occur. Sure we pushed Australia hard in three of the matches but once again weren't cut throat enough. Everyone has forgotten that if NZ hadn't had let Eng score 260 odd in the third match against them we would have received a bonus point, therefore making England's task even more impossible. But no, give the opposition a sniff of weakness/victory and they will, generally take it.
Frustrating to watch, they are the Hurricanes of the cricket world......
that innings really summed up fleming's career for me, he took care of his own back, got his hundred and then just fucking gave up trying to score runs. he ran out his team mate in a shocker, and with 10 overs to go and a win certain he stagnated the run chase. like you said too much reliance on the middle order, (which i wish he could have made room for about 5 overs earlier.r 90% of the time they put him to shame, and while dissing the flem and yet fully supportive of the team , it's probably worth giving props to that abo lou vincent who really showed everyone how a comeback is made.
may our trans tasmen relations remain strong
That Fleming knock - take out the extras and it still left the rest of the side needing less than a run a ball - should have been easily achievable. I reckon it was a decent knock by Fleming.
Now we have beaten Aus and lost to Bangers though ... I still back us to make the top 4 (should easily beat England for one), but make it no further, unless we are lucky and play out of our skins in the semi.
I like the odd punt, I've made some good wedge at it actually, although WC 2002 was an unmitigated disaster, real hiding..
point is after some analyisis I thought I might give this tournament a whack, could not decide between India and Pakistan... slow pitches etc... just as well eh, Bangladesh beats India and Ireland (WTF?) knocks out pakistan. Inzaman will not wan't to go straight home, imagine the reception at Karachi airport.
I like your enthusiaism, hoping it rubs off to those involved.
and 'cos I love sport int the NRL just the shit?
