According to movies and news sources, apparently, in america you are refused medical attention if you can't afford it. What a shame it would be if we emulated them in such a way. No, I'm totally feeling this topic, what I thinkl St. Lucy is trying to sayis that we as New Zealanders are losing our cultural identity by aping what is feed to us by the largely American dominated media.Gangsta NZ hip hop, throwing signs, WTF is that all about?NZ Bands wanting sound like Blink 182 or Good Charlotte, WTF is that all about? (Un)concious 'reggae' bands trying to do safe conservative music. Its not NZ as we want it but it is NZ as we know it in 2007.. Its a cop out designed to appease Mr Commercial radio, so much so that I can't tell the difference between The Feelers and (the current sound of) bands like U2 anymore.

Its INDUSTRY , why expect the Music Business to behave differently to any other part of society.
Cronyism , fawning, following others trends, championing the lowest common denomonator are the surest ways to commerical sucsess. If you are unable to incorporate most of these concepts into your total "Musical Package" then the likely hood of gaining a acceptable standerd of living of your Musical enterprize is Highly Unlikely.
So maybe we make Music for other reasons eh?

It's pretty hard to make any decent living out of music in this country but let's take a look at what we see outside and tell it from our eyes rather than pretending we are US frat boys or the hardest futhamuckas from this side of Compton. Our TV, radio stations and news media and now our music is being fucked up the arse by a bunch of neo-conservatives up for a quick buck and with no respect for this nations (short) history. The situation in 2007 should be about looking at this and wondering 'why is this occurring' and getting pro-active and trying to make good shit happen instead of letting the narrow minded guide us blindly down the tunnel.
