Secret Shame

Everyone has an album or group who they love, but for some reason you seem to be the only person in the world who does.
So you have discovered over the years that to save yourself from being violently attacked, that it is best not mention said album/group in your favourite's list...
I have many, but mostly it's these guys

Forums: The Bar,

I used to like mychemicalromance.... I've said too much already :(

Hm, if we're meaning things you're embarrassed to admit to liking, it's pretty hard not to be into something that each of your friends would hate, I guess?

In terms of things you feel a bit wrong listening to, I'm really into earnest art-rocker David Sylvian who was the lead singer of Japan back in the day. I find that a bit embarrassing... I generally rally against earnestness in music and his tastes are a bit daggy and old-fashioned a lot of the time. I feel a bit the same about liking Kate Bush.

EMF

Mick Karn is the missing link between these shameful artists.
I'm going to mention Dali's Car then run L.F.

I LOVE the Ryoji Ikeda Remix of David Sylvian from Blemish remix album
Blemish is great.
but he has some awful albums too

Yeah, Blemish is incredible. I didn't like the remixes enough to pick them up. His Nine Horses project is going quite well too... Burnt Friedman and Sylvian's brother Steve Jansen. If you liked Friedman's mix on that remix album you might like it.

Nine Horses rules!
I got told off by workmates for playing it too much
also the Burnt Friedman & Jaki Liebzeit albums.
But Burnt has started recycling songs which i think sucks.
especially...
Out In The Sticks EP
Nine Horses Album
Secret Rhythms 2
it's like a grand total of 8 songs rehashed, not even remixes, maybe a vocal removed.
Still he is brilliant.
The first Nu Dub Players album (which was recorded on Great Barrier Island) was my favourite album for the year it came out.

Have you heard his older stuff, Drome and Nonplace Urban Field? I had a Drome album, but wasn't convinced, sold it on. Nonplace Urban Field stuff is big in the mighty Wellington Public Library collection, but I was never excited enough to go buy some for myself. Actually, that's basically the story of my life when it comes to the guy... but he is a great producer, makes some great feels. How about the beats on his mix of Serotonin on the Nine Horses EP? Incredible.

I mostly love him for putting together a great comp called Deutscher Funk, back in maybe 95? Had Pole, Mouse On Mars, all kinds of goodies.

Yeah Drome sucks but NUF was good, Sounds really dated now though.
All his production sounds soooo nice.
And his drums have always had that real nice shuffle and tone to them.

I really like the Akira Rabelais remix too

Oh that's shocking...
I have a thing for 2-Step.
I even own an S Club 7 Remix 12
It's great

AUDIOSLAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

probably Journey actually.
"Don't stop Believing".
it is so awful I like it.
or I hooked on dramatic build up.

Ray Comfort and Banana carry on.
GodTube
can't get myself of course

I like a whole bunch of music from this tiny country in the southern hemisphere that most people here can't even find on a map. Go ahead and laugh at me for it; it wouldn't be the first time.

Enigma - MCMXC A.D.
Totally wicked.

Oh fuck yeah. This was so ahead of its time. Loved the shit out of it.

Isn't it weird how they did one really good album and then followed it up with ridiculous shite

... and I wouldn't so much call it shame...

But KMFDM and Thrill Kill Kult have lept up and bit me with that industrial bug again...

I'm overdue for getting back to some industrial.
Never stopped listening to Godflesh of course.
I could go some skinny puppy about now...
