They were from Canada, were featured on a show called "New Music" (Canadian music show) about 7 years ago (pretty helpful). The name had somebodies actual name in it and ended in 'band', for eg John Doe Band. They had cannon for a symbol (yes, lame). I've googled it and done a few serches on allmusic, but no luck. By any chance.....

Matthew Good Band. His symbol was Victory Through Sheer Volume and he had the Arsenal cannon (Matt is a huge Arsenal fan).
They're not together anymore but Matt is making a new album now... his 3rd studio album as a solo artist I do believe. He's awesome and a SWELL GUY.
