Oh well.
I thoroughly thoroughly enjoyed myself...i'll have a huge rant about it at a later date.
Highlights were the beautiful Kasabian, Little Birdie :) and Muse (although quite disappointed with the turnout for Muse). I found it absolutely hillarious that everyone left after the Tutts played K :P :P
But what the eff was with the sound during Muse and The Killers? Was it just me or was it changing key wonkily? Terrible!

Worst choice for mainstage prime time = Scribe. Sorry, 2005 is over; it was nice, but we've moved on. NZ Hip Hop, Sit the Fuck Down.

Agreed. Scribe was painfully inappropriate. And plus he's gotten a bit chubby yes? hehe

Yep, looked like Scribe has been enjoying a few pies lately.
Not sure about his set, not alot of people seemed that into it, I think the anticipation was more for the Killers/Muse/Tool at that stage of the evening.

Oh man Scribe was the worst act the whole day!! Why put him on at that time??
Putting a band behind him was a bad move, so he could rock!! what a try hard!!
Also butching Jimi Hendrix's Hey Joe, by rapping over it was a bad move, he got many boos.
I didn't see Scribe... but uh... he's ...
I didn't see Scribe... but uh... he's probably sold more albums in NZ than a lot of the bands on the main stages...? Maybe? That's perhaps why? I dunno if that's true, but it's my best guess.

he hadnt relased a single in like 2 years?? and they put him on the main stage later in the evening, where Shihad normally go. I think I would rather have MCR there, and I hate them!!

Ok. My 25 cents.
1. Eskimo Joe were fucking awesome and well worth turning up early. You may mock, I know they're not cool, but I love them and WILL FIGHT YOU TO THE DEATH!
2. The Immortals Lounge was awesome because it was hot.
3. Lily Allen was spectacular
4. Peaches is dirty but so entertaining
5. The Killers were pretty much a write off. I couldn't see, I couldn't hear, I stopped paying attention because of it and people watched which was a shame because they were a draw for me.
6. Muse, I don't even like, but kicked the Killers' arses all over the place and I figured it must have been the BANDS making the difference because I could hear Muse perfectly fine.
7. Tool... what I stuck around for was wicked, but I had a pressing engagement at
8. Dimmer. Awesome.
annnnnnnnnnnnnd
9. Violent Femmes were the perfect way to end the day even if it was way too crowded and I couldn't see much more than the silly bitch on her boyfriends shoulders. Still fun and great songs.
I thought the sound on the main stages ...
I thought the sound on the main stages was massively inconsistent, like the sound people weren't exactly sure what they were supposed to be doing - if they had sent someone out into the stands they would have realised that the mix was very poor, lots of bass and drums, no vocals or guitars, especially for MCR and Jet. We moved around several times to get a better hearing vantage spot and found that sitting right at the back in front of the stages was the best.
And why weren't there two video screens instead of just one?
Still had a good time mind you.... :)
I agree. More screens. Especially if ...
I agree. More screens. Especially if they're going to cram as many people into the stadium like that. Having just the one which was blocked by all the big structures in a LOT of places was a pain in the arse.

nah. publishings for suckers ;) There aren't any music mags i think that present live photos in a way worth publishing (sorry rhino;0) but, most mags tend to print them too small or kill them with bad design and text. haha, its tough...once you've experienced being in control of how your work is presented, its too difficult to just hand it over to a layout designer when bad layout can make good photos look like ass. haha, man, I've had photos cropped, colourized, re-sampled, cut into zany shapes, poorly scanned and printed back to front. Its just not worth it alot of the time :(
so, haha, without the wanky explanation... simply, no.
