It was the most incredible experience! The band line up was fantastic the ppl were lovely the weather was primo, i am so tired, i have a whole lot of new friends and wicked souvenirs. BEST BANDS: Soda(LOVING YOU 24/7/365!), Steriogram, Skillet, EARTHSUIT, Adino (GO the kids!), oh more i cant think. I bought a hat for $5 on the first day and got everyone to sign it, bands and friends. I got about...15 hours sleep, thats quite alot of wasted time, dont you think? I met Soda, Earthsuit, four of the OC Supertones, Adino, Steriogram of course (like, i know them!) maybe more, OH and bubblez and tali and tadpole_rock and muzzy off here everyone i tented with i had met that day, and everyone i met was so lovely! i cant say enough good things about this festival and for all those considering going, go next year, its definitely worth forking out the $250 (give or take depending on how close you live, how much you wanna eat, buy etc). BIGGEST THANKS AND RESPECT TO ALL THE ORGANISERS and volunteers and to all the ppl i met and who looked after meeeeeeeee...
Ummm, yeah Parachute was rocking....it was my seventh year of going, so it's been pretty rad to see it grow and change since i first started going!!! I've seen sooooo many talented bands play there over the years, and have met some amazing people that have changed my life>>> It's definatley been one of the biggest highlights of my year so far!! Can't wait till next year!!!!!

Well, I believe that there is a difference between ignorance and belief. You cannot go on your high horse and and say that you believe in the bible AND evolution butterfly, becuase if you did believe in evolution (or even a theolosised version) you would therfore accept that humans co-evolved with apes, meaning apes and humans were, at one point on the evolutionary ladder, the same organism! Now what you were saying could be transfered over to, lets say, a belief that the earth is flat, and that there are no other planets, stars, solar systems ect. You could say that there was no mention of any such thing in the bible, and that all that exists above is heaven, and all that exists below is hell. We have a great deal more evidence to suggest otherwise, just like we have a great deal of evidence suggesting that the 7 day creationist's answer to how everything came to exist is untrue.
Can't you see, it's the same thing. I'm sure you would have been one of those people accusing scientists of herecy if you were alive back in those times!
And one more thing, I do have something against people thinking that humans are divine beings, because that arrogant way of thinking is the reason that the environment is in the fucked up state that it is today. "We are divine, and these other creatures are not, so our comfort means more than anything else. Lets go and kill off every animal and plant that doesn't serve a direct purpose to us!"

I have found generally speaking that I do not enjoy listening to 'christian' bands, mostly as it seems not to be about the music so much as 'spreading the word' and I can do without that shit , however I have no problem listening to good bands who just happen to be christian. There being a big difference betwen the two.
As it happens I wouldn't go to Parachute if it were free, let along paying to go.
by the way, I'm not anti christ , atheist or whatever, I just don't buy into the whole organised religion thing, however I have friends that do and thats sweet.
Ya know, its not very fair to pass those judgements on the festival, have you even been there before? This year was my first year, and it was so unexplainable and different to any festival/concert i have ever been to, not the music neccessarily, but the atmosphere. Everyone just talks to you, you meet so many new and cool people, and noone judges you, it may sound like utter tripe to you but if you actually went there, i reckon you'd have a blast, i certainly did. What thrill do you get out of posting here, saying how stupid parachute is? Its quite pathetic, i bet you're the type who goes to certain band's message boards and disses the band to annoy the fans, oh, your so cool, i wish i had a life like you. *sarcasm* Some people feel drawn to certain songs because how they interpret it, they can relate to it and stuff, does it really matter if christian bands sing about what they believe in? Its what they want to sing about so let it go, its no different to singing about a certain person or about something thats happened in your life. Does the fact that a band is christian make any difference towards how much you like them? Coz if it does, thats really low, judging them like that, thats like how people go on about how girls only like zed because the lead singer is so hot. i never said i didnt believe in evolution pooas, i said i've got my own version, what i believe happened, where evolution and god are intertwined.....in the biblical story of the earths creation, it states there was a period of darkness....u know..until god said "let there be light!!" and so on...well, it never said and no one knows how long that dark period was.....now it could have been a day....(i think it sez it was a day in the bible) but this could have also been millions of years.....the birth of all organisms could always have taken place in this dark era....i know this theory is a little out there....but i dunno, im still mulling things over and i probably be thinking all this stuff over till im an old lady.....no one can ever really claim that they know how it happened.....no one can ever say "im right and your wrong" in the great debate of origin....its all about faith....or lack of in some cases.....

Well, I believe that there is a difference between ignorance and belief. You cannot go on your high horse and and say that you believe in the bible AND evolution butterfly, becuase if you did believe in evolution (or even a theolosised version) you would therfore accept that humans co-evolved with apes, meaning apes and humans were, at one point on the evolutionary ladder, the same organism! Now what you were saying could be transfered over to, lets say, a belief that the earth is flat, and that there are no other planets, stars, solar systems ect. You could say that there was no mention of any such thing in the bible, and that all that exists above is heaven, and all that exists below is hell. We have a great deal more evidence to suggest otherwise, just like we have a great deal of evidence suggesting that the 7 day creationist's answer to how everything came to exist is untrue.
Can't you see, it's the same thing. I'm sure you would have been one of those people accusing scientists of herecy if you were alive back in those times!
And one more thing, I do have something against people thinking that humans are divine beings, because that arrogant way of thinking is the reason that the environment is in the fucked up state that it is today. I have found generally speaking that I do not enjoy listening to 'christian' bands, mostly as it seems not to be about the music so much as 'spreading the word' and I can do without that shit , however I have no problem listening to good bands who just happen to be christian. There being a big difference betwen the two.
As it happens I wouldn't go to Parachute if it were free, let along paying to go.
by the way, I'm not anti christ , atheist or whatever, I just don't buy into the whole organised religion thing, however I have friends that do and thats sweet.

This year was my first year, and it was so unexplainable and different to any festival/concert i have ever been to, not the music neccessarily, but the atmosphere. Everyone just talks to you, you meet so many new and cool people, and noone judges you, it may sound like utter tripe to you but if you actually went there, i reckon you'd have a blast, i certainly did. What thrill do you get out of posting here, saying how stupid parachute is? Its quite pathetic, i bet you're the type who goes to certain band's message boards and disses the band to annoy the fans, oh, your so cool, i wish i had a life like you. *sarcasm* Some people feel drawn to certain songs because how they interpret it, they can relate to it and stuff, does it really matter if christian bands sing about what they believe in? Its what they want to sing about so let it go, its no different to singing about a certain person or about something thats happened in your life. Does the fact that a band is christian make any difference towards how much you like them? Coz if it does, thats really low, judging them like that, thats like how people go on about how girls only like zed because the lead singer is so hot.
