No gigs? That can't be right.

I might be in Auckland at the end of this month for work. Thinking I might go and catch some local bands if I could, I tried checking the nzmusic gig guide. According to this guide, no bands are playing in Auckland. Ever.

The Fix promised much, but all their gig guide had to say was "Warning: main(backissues.phtml): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in [blah blah blah]".

The Viaduct seems to have some listings, but NZ Musician also says that there are no gigs at all in late January.

Can someone please help me: where might I find a decent gig guide?

Forums: The Bar,

theres a new metal/hardcore, punk festival thing starting this year just after the end of the month, 2nd,3rd of Feb, I think its going to be held at the studio. Parkway drive are playing, they're so wicked (obviously if metal/hardcore is your thing). First night is more metal, second more punk, can't remember too many names off the top of my head. Brick vs face, cold by winter, antagonist and parkway drive are all on the friday night... as well as good night nurse.... feel a little sorry for them though, I'm sure they would of rather played the saturday.

What he said. FYI the Groove Guide gets their gigs directly from something like 100 bars nationwide and updates it every Wednesday for the weekend ahead.

The Fix is dead and gone my friend.

And that's me driving the little silver Groove Guide car so if you see me at the lights or something and you're an NZMer from way back come and say hi, we'll both get a kick out of it.

The bFM entertainment guide is normally really good, although it looks like they're still hibernating for summer.

Cheeseontoast is also good.

Hey! There we go...
Thanks for the replies everyone. Looks like we won't have to stay in and watch TV all evening after all.
