i was quite supprised to find out that this years BDO sold out. it's not because of tool surely? i quite like the line up this year, but i didn't expect this kinda mass appeal.
My missus reckons its a great marketing ploy - say its sold out and release an "extra" 2000 tickets. Surely if its sold out there is no extra room for any more people?
Yes - very strange timeslot for MCR 315pm, and also Trivium 1pm? I'm sure those bands are miffed at that as well. Although I am looking forward to seeing all those emo kids get thoroughly sunburnt due to MCR on in the middle of the arvo.
were they "extra" or were they held in a reserve for gate sales, and now they're just gonna simply flush them out. I dunno... I think BDO are old enough and ugly enough not to have to stoop to marketing ploys to sell tickets. I mean seriously...every angsty male 15-17 year old boy in AK will be going, every bogan in South Auckland will be going. It can sell out on that fact alone.
True. I'm hoping it won't turn into a boganfest, but its always good from a purely entertainment perspective watching them "get into it"
I'm surprised only the Metallica BDO sold out (apart from this one) The 1999 BDO line up looked fairly impressive, much more commercial than this years. I mean RHCP, Chemical Bros, Foo Fighters, NIN,....
2000 extra tickets, but it HADN'T sold out. only real groovy sold out, people were still buying tickets off tickitec of ticket direct, unlike the retards that lined up for hours outside of RG.
the ironic thing was, even though people lined up since midnight the night before to get a ticket, after the line cleared, real groovy still had tickets left over
"every angsty male 15-17 year old boy in AK will be going"
hehe i fit into a gross generalisation! yahoo!
except maybe the angsty part. i'll go with a tad upset. but that's all.
oops forgot to have a point.
ummm, i seriously doubt that BDO will use a marketting ploy. from my memory (although it's bad at times), BDO wasn't sold out last year. and errr...i dunno...they were expecting a repeat or something? meh. but who really cares...more people...more fun!
oh and i'm wondering if emos actually DO mosh. i just can't picture it.... :P

its was always gonna sell out fast. its the most mainstream lineup they've ever had.
Its weird...I'm actually spending 2/3s of my day inside the boiler room, and won't be watching a single band on the main stages. first time ever.
How odd was it putting My Chemical Romance on at like 1pm? I would thought they were more like a 5-6pmish band.
haha, did anyone see the backpage ad in the Big Day Out "annual" that was made under the assumption that Shihad would be playing? haha. burnt.

it wasn't so much a marketting ploy as it was misinformation.
no one bothered to tell people to get the tickets elsewhere so everyone assumed real groovy was the only place to get them
emos dance. they do it to panic at the disco whenever they play it over the speaker systems. silly children
