U2

OK. Someone had to say it so i thought it mayaswell be me.
Who else here went to U2, and who else thought that it was one hell of an amzingly lifechangingly incredibly best bloody concert youve ever been to?
Perfect sound, perfect band (except Edge did make a whole 2 small mistakes) , perfect show, perfect set list. ......
The only concert that I have ever wanted not to end.
*sigh*

sweet. so it wasnt just me that was overwhelmed by the sheer brilliance and quality of it.
yes. Glorious is a rather fitting word. "Elating" was another one that i thought of while grinning from ear to ear as that guitar sounds screamed across the stadium.
I heard that the FOH mixing was done out the back of the stage on a big Midas in a controlled near-studio-like environment. that makes so much sense - get it sounding good and THEN send it to FOH. no wonder it sounded perfect.

Indeed a great concert - better than the Stones earlier this year (probably because the venue was better). One gripe though, Bono preaching during Bullet The Blue Sky, he sort of lost me there, wasn't quite sure what the point was (although at this stage I had had a few beers so perhaps that affected my intellect.
Here's a question - why isn't Mt Smart being considered as a possibel 60,000 seater stadium? Is it because it isn't in a sexy location? Or that it is in the middle of an industrial area? I though that it would be great venue to hold concerts (no residential areas around the stadium) and certainly has enough room to expand seating and upgrade facilities. Or is it that the rugby fraternity are too snobbish to see past Eden Park.....???

From the link in the post above:

"Everyone who suggested Mt Smart for the site of a new national stadium, go and stand in the corner. Sure, we could hold big events there without bothering residents: so long as they're not on a Friday or everyone promises not to use the motorway. The jams before the show were replicated afterwards. I waited half an hour to leave and it was still a long, patient drive home; nose-to-tail all the way to Three Kings. The problem is that once people leave that stadium, they really don't have much choice but to go somewhere else, all at the same time. "

¿why?

to thine own self be true or something ha

U2 played in the flat under my house. Or atleast the people who live under us seem to think so when at 1am they started belting out U2 songs on their guitar.

Daft Punk is playing at my house.

Wow your house must be famous !

We could resurrect dead musicians to play at our houses, I'm going to get J.S Bach to play at mine on his Bach From The Dead tour

screw U2 . . . What was Kanye West like?

Shit.
