The Feelers 4th Album One World Imminent!

Forums: NZ Music,

Superb - here's the review of the new Feelers video from "Riffin' to the tune of Rosscoe"...

Dear God, I have just seen one of the most hilariously pretentious videos ever. It's for The Feelers' new song 'One World', and features a circling aerial shot of James Reid on top of an Auckland skyscraper intercut with footage from across the globe...I really wonder how the band could watch the final video with a straight face - clad in wraparound shades, Reid looks like an overweight Kiwi version of Bono, and the aerial camera is pure Guns 'n' Roses. Unfortunately for The Feelers, Slash could pull off being shot from an overhead helicopter because: a) Slash is (or was) one of the best guitarists in rock; b) Slash didn't look like a man trapped in a mid-life crisis who has dressed up for a night at the Outback; c) G'n'R were all about turned-up-to-11 pretentiousness. The band that wrote 'Fishing for Lisa', or indeed some pap about 'one world', cannot possibly be about being turned up to 11.

thats golden. thanks.

I think if I had to walk around telling people I play "adult rock" I'd probably shoot myself.

Also, a while back there seemed to be this notion that all new zealand bands owe it to the feelers for bringing the mainstream focus back to new zealand music since they released supersystem. So why is it that there's this constant atmosphere of contempt for them? Maybe it has to do with having one garishly generic power-chord rock tune after another plastered all over high-rotate on the country's radio stations. How has that done anything for anyone but James Reid?

I hear even Nickleback wishes they could make a video that cool . . . . . . . .

Um. guys. Pleeeeease dont make another album
I dont get it.
I just dont get it.
i dont know a single person that respects the Feelers work these days, and i personally cant stand their songs. im not even gonna get into detail basically just find it all a bit ....um..... Lame.
How do they get most airplay. how do they keep making records paid for by someone else
and HOW do they keep selling albums?
