Brilliant music video!

This was posted on Dave Barry's blog this morning. I just had to pass it on. A contender for the worst music video ever.

I would like to point out a typo ... you have mistakenly replaced the word "Best" with the word "Worst", A common mistake I have noticed in the world.
Don't worry about thanking me... We all do it.

eurovision has a lot to answer for...

including Celine Dion...

I love how Celine married the man who was her producer when she was 13....
Oh Canada...

Still, there is no worse - oops, pardon me, adrialcarl - greater music video than this Indian "tribute" to Michael Jackson's thriller.

That is one of the best 3.5 minutes I've had in a long, long time.

Questionable quality and also very questionable clothing choice.

But by far the best music video of all time.... ladies and gentlemen, I give you JOURNEY!

// JOURNEY!

two words...

AWE. SOME!

Yeah, tell me about it. EVERY SINGLE FRAME of that video is priceless. The concept is priceless. The band itself is perfect - a great mix of over-earnest-ness and frivolity. I seriously want to throw a party and just play Journey over and over again.

While nothing can ever match up to it... here is the quintissential early 90's classic 'King of Wishful Thinking' by Go West. Even featured on Pretty Woman! Classy.

jesus. I just watched that Yatta! clip. Disturbing...

And I remember that Go West clip well. Such fine tucking in of t-shirts into jeans. And I could never figure out why he would dance around with that over-sized crescent spanner, and, er, serenade it?

Just when I thought the internet couldn't get any funnier...

I am proud to present 'Geronimo's Cadillac' by Modern Talking. A transgender front'man' and ultra-literal 'special effects'.

Bloody hell! This from Wikipedia:
"Global sales of Modern Talking records were 120 million units, according to BMG in June 2003, and they have become the biggest-selling German music act in history, so far outselling even Frank Farian's projects Boney M and Milli Vanilli, Michael Cretu's Enigma, Sandra, the Scorpions, Snap! and Rammstein."

Ok, so some of you may remember my gushing rants about the Eurythmics' '1984'. FINALLY it is online.

Annie Lennox reads 1984, the director takes a whole lot of acid, and this video is made. One of my all-time favourites.

Best parts: the song's reliance on horrible, overused mixing board effects on Annie's vocals, the awesome 80's technique of constant cutaway shots to peoples' heads turning, and the pleather jackets (O! the pleather...)
