Was never a fan of mellow yellow, but occasionally you could still get Leeds at random places. So much nicer than sprite.
It's weird also that there are a whole generation that don't remember 1 & 2 c coins, and 1 & 2 dollar notes.
// I remember when Popsicles were 20c
K-bars seem resistant to inflation. Like not much more than they were back in the early 80s. They're what 25c still, and were probably only 15-20c back in the day.

I remember when I was about 3yo, my babysitter would come to look after us with a handbag stuffed full of k-bars. We never got any - she would sit there and devour them one by one over the course of the evening.
To my 3yo mind, it was the height of adult luxury (ignoring the fact my babysitter was probably only 16). Imagine it - being able to a) afford and b) eat as many k-bars as you wanted.
Oh how I wanted to grow up...

Depends what you're looking for I guess. I think it was a little less sweet, and with a bit more lemon tang. It was occasionally for sale in odd places. One of the last places I remember it was (randomly) Shantytown near Greymouth, probably around 1990.

I'd say it's the other way around - when you're young you might have a larger group of people that you socialise with but really they're all 'polite aquantances'
the older you get your cirle does seem to get smaller but those people are then usually real friends who've you've known for years/decades blah blah blah . . . . . maybe a quality vs quantity thing ???

"it seems as if older people don't have friends, they have polite aquantances. "
No, dude, it's not like that at all. :o)
I have friends that I've known, literally, for decades. If after 30 years or more, you still have something to share with your friends, if you are still happy to see them, then they really ARE friends.
...well that's just my impression, ...
...well that's just my impression, older people are repressed, they don't say what they mean, don't express what they really think or feel, in a desperate effort to not look weak they only talk about sensible stuff, and this is 'maturity'. I guess working in a boring job or having a family forces you to be like that , until you become it.

again I think you've got it backwards, they way I see it - younger people are repressed, they don't say what they mean, don't express what they really think or feel, in a desperate effort to look cool / fit in, but the older you get you can say what you want, you don't need to prove yourseif to others so much ??.

What motivates me, sometimes, rdor is the smell of fear that comes from young people afraid to get old. Otherwise it's loving, being loved and having true and beautiful friends. I've said it before and I'll say it again, "YOU'RE NOTHING IF YOUR NOT DOWN WITH THE KIDS".
When I look back at all the great events of my life, all the ways I have postively benefitted Humankind, it's this credo and my overwhelming sense of modesty that enables me to carry on, whilst shouldering the burdens of so many others. I don't like to mention my many and varied CHARITY works, but it's fair too say I have put my name to many good causes, regardless of wether I actually knew, or for that matter cared, what it was they were on about.
Dress is very important , as is the language you choose, Holmeslice. Arbitrailly "borrowing" others fashion is a nice touch too, it shows you can communicate where it's at. Lately I have taken to wearing Gold Chains with my Adidas. And with my Wife, as ever, sequestered into her Gold Bikini, toting a BBGun I think we make a vital statement on the South Brighton Gangster Community. Or hood.
So what if our Kids are embrassed? It's perfectly normal for children to dis-own or for that matter actuall Sue there Parents. It's tough living up to such famous genes, what with bedwetting, acne, and a predisposition for synchronised crying but it's these challanges which make us Men.
So change your bedsheets, or ask your Mother how, gravitate to new threads, and bust a move to the Youth Club mate.

Popsicles ... 4c and a dollars worth of pick and mix .. well that was a weeks worth of sweets, if remembering that and many other things which date me makes me old then so be it ... the thing is, as I've said before the bodies 40 but the brains still 18 .. well at times anyhow, I still hang out with my mates, some younger, some older, okay not on street corners or shopping malls, but we still go to each others houses and party there and by that I mean eat and drink pizza and watch crap films .. I still go to the movies, I still meet random people who become friends, I still ... regulary .. get in well past midnight, even though I've got work in the morning and at times turn up at work hungover .. looking at it as written, it would appear times traveled and I've stayed still in my teenage years .. :-) still no complaint here I'm oldish and happy .. as to what motivates me .. enjoyment of my time before death.
