I'm with noizyboy on this one, although what I'd really like to be doing is being down in Gisborne at Rhythm and Vines, filling my ears with Mark de Clive Lowe's luscious music. Since there is no accommodation available at a reasonable price however in that happening and hip place, it won't be happening for me. So back to Plan A.
I'll be at work during the day ... apart from last year, I work every christmas and new year I can, Over the Christmas / new year period the studio's pretty much shut down only really me and the other security guys working, I put a small sofa behind the desk, got the plasma on the wall and normally something cooking in the oven and the odd bottle of wine .. with the meal of course .. ;-) at my side, I also have the internet ... actually that sounds like a normal working day any day of the year, cept I don't do the cooking and sofa's not here .. and it's normally a rum and coke after work. The in the evening I normally join friends at someones house to see in the new year, this year they phoned me back in nZ from the party ...
I really like Mark deClive-Lowe, too, and living here in Japan, I really expected that I'd be able to see him once in a while, but he only seems to play in Tokyo and I'm at the other end of the country.
At this stage it's looking like a whanau thing- bit of a reunion at uncle Dave's in Patea. Beer, barbeques, black sand beaches, scrag, slightly drunken happy good times chillin with the cuzzies.
Who's playing? Wherever the best pop is, I'll be there, but probably not a festival. I'm too lazy to do a whole day thing; also, I like to sleep in a proper bed that's within taxi-ing distance.
hey foetusboy, uncle dave's sounds like the business dude hahaha. So classic, its brilliant. I did the R&V thing last year and loved it, but to be honest i dont think i could do it again cause of the size of it and the whole day/night/morning thing, so just checkin to see what else is happening...

This will be the first new years that I have not been working at between 5am and 9am the next morning since I was 17 ... but now I am 25, and I doubt I will be bothered doing anything. Damn wasted youth!
