grr

just checked out the new Parliament website, it's good that you can sort MPs by electorate, party, portfolio... but it's stupid that if you want to display them by ethnicity you can only choose between European and Maori... why not the other races? and why is it even relevant? might as well throw in stuff like display by religion, sexuality, favourite food...

ps. if anyone would like to come watch Rebel Heart on Saturday the 2nd, i'm playing one song at the Dux at 12:30 noon... visit rdu.org.nz for a list of all the bands playing

my understanding is that the MPs themselves are responsible for entering their personal info, so blame the non-european, non-maori MPs for not doing so.

actually now that i look at it i think those are the MPs that stood for the Maori seats, and since being a part of the Maori role is the law as it stands that's probably why, since National's Maori MPs aren't there... although i don't know who the NZ First MP is

I think it is just to do with what they list. If you look at "European", it becomes very obvious. Only 20 there, 2 "none selected", and 6 Maori. So clearly most people just haven't filled in/supplied that information.
